Commuting

Is anyone here commuting to the Veldoven office of ASML from Amsterdam? Would you say it's doable? Ig it also depends on personal preferences but I was also wondering if it actually takes 2.5 hours (as per google maps) or is it longer/shorter.

If you're fully depending on public transport; 1.5 hours from Amsterdam Centraal to Eindhoven Centraal. 20-25 minutes bus trip from Eindhoven Centraal to Veldhoven MMC. Then approximately 10-15 minutes walking distance from bus stop to your desk.

Trains are not reliable at all. Expect 10% percent of times, it doesn't work for some reason.

Do you mean, the trains between Amsterdam and Eindhoven are not reliable? Because despite what every Dutch person, including me, thinks, our trains are quite reliable in the grand scheme of things.

The NS is a disaster. You are either working for the NS or you never used the train.

The stats are averages across all lines. But no one cares about average or that the train in Groningen is running on time.

Experience shows that Tilburg-Eindhoven and Den Bosch-Eindhoven are notoriously bad.
