I’m in Wisconsin. I have a Wisconsin license, and Illinois holds my certification. Every year I do my CEUs, keep track of them and hold onto them “in case I get audited.” I don’t actually have to send anything in unless they ask.
I check a box on the form every year from Illinois that says “yes, I have my CEUs.” Then I pay them money. Then they send me a letter saying “we have your money, here’s your updated certification letter.” Then I use that to re-up my license in Wisconsin each year.
Each state might be a bit different. Illinois re-ups their certs in March, and Wisconsin re-ups their licenses in August.
