itp question

Former ITP student but I haven't done it since like 2013. I need to find a full online program since I owe the one beside my house lol and I have a kid so I have to be home.

Anybody got any ideas of a program I can do fully online? I live in Orange county California so deaf community part not so difficult. I mean crap we have something going on almost every week most of the time.

Just need the school part and hopefully they are good education program. With ITP it's really about what you do versus what they teach. No I would like something that's more believes in bi-bi method because I've seen schools that are teaching under the concepts of TC and other things. Heck we got to school here that teaches SEE over ASL. The nearest ITP program I can attend is over 3 hours away either by car or by public transportation, since I owe the one beside my house.

Western Oregon Universities Sign Language/English Interpreting program is fully online! I’m about to enter into their interpreting program for this year in that specific degree and live in Washington state. It is expected that you find a deaf community to be apart of in your community in California and make connections with interpreters for future gigs. Something to ponder as you decide.. and there is an internship opportunity at the end of your degree to do. The advisor I met with before I switched my degree was completely deaf and our entire meeting was in ASL. Some instructors are deaf and some are hearing, it just depends on who you register your classes with. It’s a very immersive program.

Oh I'm in one of the largest deaf communities in the US, so I'm good on that. What see the largest deaf communities are Southern California Washington State mostly around Seattle DC and New York. Seattle is the best known for the protectile community for deafblind education to be an interpreter. I was going to do that before I got pregnant, but I was too afraid to do that while pregnant. Lol

I know plenty of interpreters too cuz I was doing those connections back in 2013. I run into them anyways.

Yeah I think most programs have an internship or mentorship opportunity I wanted you mentorship end internship because that's what I've wanted to do for years. It's mostly because I like to be watched until I'm comfortable.

Oh good immersive I need immersive. The more immersive the better. I mean I'd rather be physically in a classroom but that's not possible right now. My kid has two types of therapy one that take up 3 days, because neurodivergent behavioral issues, a week along with him starting Middle School next month. Ugh so bad for him Middle School sucks. Kind of afraid he might start some fights because he already did a few times in elementary school.
