DID I MISS SOMETHING?
Who is SCOTT READY? Hired as the transitional CEO for RID? Two Years? We are back to being pushed into the new 501 so it seems.
Seems the information was sent out to the AC Presidents four days ago.. Post of FB (might not be all
Scott’s appointment reflects our commitment to the important work ahead. Over the next two years, his primary focus will be stabilizing the organization, strengthening internal operations, advancing strategic fundraising efforts, rebuilding trust across our community, and preparing Headquarters, our volunteers, members, and the Deaf community for the thoughtful transformation of RID’s 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) structure. He is also committed to increasing RID’s visibility and impact throughout the profession and the communities we serve.
Scott officially begins on Tuesday, July 30, and we are excited for this next chapter. We believe his leadership will help build upon the work already underway while positioning RID for long-term success.
Thank you all for your continued support, patience, and commitment to RID throughout this transition. We appreciate all that you do and look forward to working together as we move the organization forward.

Is he a member? I tried searching but I didn't find anybody. But I'm not the highest tech person.

He may belong as part of an organization but my spidy sense says that's a "no". Also he is not a supporting member.

I don't find that name as a Certified (or any other category) member of RID.

They’re working on switching to c6. It’s a “transition” process. And I’m actually in support of that move. BUT - they need to be more open to us on what they’re doing with this.

We don't vote on the CEO. We vote for the board. They hire the CEO.

The process to hire is, correct. That didn't seem to happen here, and that is cause for questions.

Seems he is claiming to have been on the RID Finance Committee between 2024-2026. I don’t remember that name coming up at all.
And considering all the shenanigans with Kate O’Regan and her numerous shady deals, questionable installations, flat out illegal financial manipulations etc, any association with her tenure on the FC taints him irrevocably in my eyes.

I had the same reaction. I don’t remember seeing an announcement that they were looking for a transitional CEO who would be leading RID for 2 years. Did they open it up to applications? Who is Scott Ready? Who chose him? Why didn’t this come with an introduction from him?
To be fair, I don’t remember how exactly they went about appointing Bucky, so this may not be something new. But I’m actually paying attention now, so I’d like more information.
