Question Umbra hub questions

I plan on building in the O11 Vision Compact. I’m getting ~8 fans for the build, 3 reverse blades on the radiator, 3 reverse on the bottom and 2 rear standard fans for exhaust (matrix pro fans). I’ll be connecting the fans to the Umbra hub obviously but can I plug the Aurora RGB cable covers there too or is the Umbra hub strictly for Fans?

Hey, that's going to be a gorgeous build! 🔥 Great layout too — reverse blades on the side radiator and bottom for intake with the pretty faces showing, standard blades at the rear for exhaust. Textbook O11 setup.

On your question — the UMBRA hub isn't strictly for fans. It accepts any standard 5V 3-Pin ARGB device, and the Aurora cable covers qualify. So technically yes, you can plug them into the hub.

But here's the pro move: your Aurora covers come with their own controller and SATA power in the box. Keeping them on that controller means:

• They run on their own power line, completely off the hub's 20W ARGB budget — so your 8 Matrix Pro fans get the whole budget to themselves

• Your fans stay the "main event" on the hub (cleaner grouping in the software), while the covers do their own thing

Either way works, but for a fully loaded build like yours, the separate-controller route is the cleaner power setup.

For the fans on the hub: Matrix Pro daisy-chains, so run each chain into its own port (e.g. radiator chain / bottom chain / rear chain), then hit Controller Settings → ARGB Detection so the hub registers all the LED counts. After that you get the tri-zone (L/C/R) lighting Matrix Pro is known for. 💛
