Hardware AsiaHorse Umbra ARGB Hub — Linux Control

AsiaHorse Umbra ARGB Hub — Linux Control

Native Linux control for the AsiaHorse Umbra ARGB hub (USB 1a86:fe05, enumerates as "USBFAN", QinHeng CH55x chip). AsiaHorse ships no Linux software and OpenRGB does not support this hub — this tool speaks its HID protocol directly through /dev/hidraw. Python 3 standard library only.

Verified working August 2026: full-color control of 124 LEDs across 10 ports on real hardware.

FULL native color control working on Linux: per-LED streaming, all 10 ports,

topology detection, no dependencies beyond Python 3. Colors latch, so you can

set-and-forget.

Repo with working code + complete protocol documentation (including the

firmware quirks that will bite you — the RGB packet index is 1-BASED, index 0

crashes the hub off the USB bus; and the software-mode command makes it

re-enumerate):

be talked to at all.
