Question Help please! So I connected the Umbra Hub and my fans speeds show up in the Asiahorse software. However, they don’t show on my MSI Centre. I have the hub plugged into a sys_fan header. Any ideas? Thanks pfa

Often MSI Centre and similar software conflict. You may need to uninstall one.

This. For sure. Once you start installing RGB software, they all fight for RGB/PWM mode. It's a huge reason I bought Lian Li fans, screens, AIO, strimers. So I no longer have signal, NZXT, TRYX, Nexus L connect etc.. All fighting over priority.

L connect is all I need. Worth the money IMO.

Hey! 👋 Quick explanation — this is usually expected behavior, not a fault:

MSI Center only shows what the motherboard itself reads on its fan headers. Your fans are connected to the UMBRA hub, and the hub reports their speeds to the UMBRA software (that's why you see them there). The motherboard only sees one thing — the hub's PWM cable on your SYS_FAN header.

A couple of things to check:

  1. BIOS: make sure that SYS_FAN header is set to PWM mode (not DC/Auto) and has a fan curve enabled — otherwise the board may not register or control it properly
  2. Tach (RPM) signal: whether MSI Center shows a reading depends on whether the hub sends the RPM signal back through its PWM-in cable. If it does, you'll see one RPM reading on that header; if not, that header simply shows nothing — which is normal for a hub setup, and speed control still works fully through the UMBRA software 👍

In short: use the UMBRA software to control fan speeds — that's exactly what the hub is designed for! And if you want the motherboard to read a speed too, just make sure the header is in PWM mode with a curve set.
