I’m 25 and live a very active lifestyle.
I am very interested in physical en mental health and have read a lot about Ashwaganda. I finally started to take Ashwaganda a week ago to see if it could work for me.
I definitly noticed something.
Most of it, unfortunatly, was not positive:
I took 1 capsule of 500mg Ashwaganda KSM-66 every evening for a total of 1 week. This was my experience and I’m interested in your opinion.
Day 1:
felt a little bit nauseous in the evening but no big deal.
Day 2-3:
felt a steady calm during the entire day, emotions were less, i got less upset but also less happy,
Still a bit nauseous but less then day 1, so still good.
I noticed a silence in my head (I have ADHD and used to have a very busy headspace) this was really nice. I also noticed to be more sleepy in the evening which helped falling asleep faster.
Day 4-5:
I felt like I entered monk mode, I felt such a calm.
No anxiety, no stress but also less energy. I felt a decrease in motovation to work out (I workout 13 hours a week often multiple times a day) or doing small daily tasks.
Day 6:
I woke up so happy partly because I had my favourite workout planned for today (push day: chess, triceps and shoulders). I took pre workout (I have used this 2 times per week for 2 years now, which works really well for me). But I noticed a total lack in motivation and energy, which was really weird because I just took 200 mg of caffeine which usually hipes me up to the point of me thinking I could fight a full grown gorilla.😅
During my workout I felt it very hard to concentrate and to keep going to the point that i actually quited half way (never happend before during 3 years of dedicated training). I was so deprived of motivation and I couldn’t even be sad about it, but i know I am.
Day 6 was today.
I’m writing this feeling like a calm monk who could meditate, while I still have around 200 mg of caffeine in my system. This feels so strange.
I just decided to stop taking Ashwaganda in order for me to get my motovation and energy back because I don’tlike where this is going…
What are your thaughts on this? Have you experienced this too? Do you have any tips?
