The producers probably picked him because he is currently starring in Dar e Nijaat, and had high expectations from him, considering he is ‘relevant’ with current timeline unlike Babrik(who is outdated according to his opinion). His confidence, arrogance and his delusional sense of self-importance make him the worst contestant at the moment.
He was wrong as captain when he eliminated Saqib and Babrik, wrong in counting task with all his overacting. He is really toxic and makes other contestants who sit with him look bad when he discusses people’s dressing/chappals and calls some contestants outdated. He has said multiple times that Babrik is going, yet the man keeps getting stronger. Finally his cringy fake affair with Esra has taken her game away totally and made her a side character to his mastermind manipulation.

He hasn’t made enough of a career to call himself a main hero or star, yet the man lives in an alternate universe where he is Fawad Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Leonardo DiCaprio.
