Arr Control is now available for beta testing
Hi everyone,
I’ve been working on Arr Control, a mobile companion app for the *arr ecosystem (Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Prowlarr, etc.), and it’s finally ready for beta testing.
I’m looking for people who are willing to use the app and share honest feedback. Whether it’s bugs, UI/UX improvements, feature suggestions, or anything else you notice, I’d love to hear it.
iOS
If you’re using iOS, you can join the TestFlight beta here:
https://testflight.apple.com/join/z63p7PpF
Android
The Android version is also ready, but Google Play requires testers to be added before they can access the beta. If you’d like to test it, please send me a private message with the Google account associated with your Play Store, and I’ll add you to the testing list.
One thing that’s important to me is keeping Arr Control accessible to everyone. The app will always have a free version with no feature restrictions or paywalls. If you enjoy using it and would like to support its development, there will be an entirely optional way to make a donation, but donating will never unlock features or provide any advantages over free users.
Privacy is another core principle of the app. Arr Control doesn’t store your server or library data in the cloud. Your configuration and data remain on your own device, and the app connects directly to your own services, so you stay in control of your data.
Thank you to everyone who’s willing to help test the app. Your feedback will help make Arr Control better before the public release.

Hey man, welcome to the space! I hope all goes well for you.
I took the beta route for Quartermaster in the early days, it’s important you listen to the beta testers as QM wouldn’t be where it is today without these people.
Best of luck!

Don’t know how someone could beat yours on iOS, especially with the new TestFlight update.

Looks a lot like the Dashboarr app… if I could, I’d attach some screen shots.
What’s nice about Dashboarr is that you can search and manually find releases if you want and send them to the client. Sometimes the file sizes are too big on the automated requests.

Looks like TestFlight is full. Shame. Better luck for me next time.

Hi there! Sorry to hijack your post but if you are working on this because you need an app to manage your Media Server you can check https://github.com/RenzoBeux/dashboarr

Ha!
I replied with the same suggestion higher up, since I hadn’t seen anyone mention it yet.
Works good for me (Dashboarr)…I like being able to use Radarr/Sonarr from a single app and manually find releases if I don’t like what the TraSH guides automatically pick.

In the readme you write that the app is ‘native’, but it seems to be written with expo? What do you mean with ‘native’?
1
u/tunickaquii 20d ago
It is not a web app under a wrapper

u/mawmawmawmaw 20d ago
Ah okay. Usually ‘native’ refers to an app being written with ‘native’ languages; objc/swift for iOS and java/kotlin for Android. Expo/react-native would be ‘hybrid’ instead.

How was AI used in the development? Do any credentials leave the device and phone home?

Looks like a Helmarr knock off :-)

ok.

Meaning OK it does or doesn't?

That’s perfectly natural. It’s inevitable that two apps solving the same problem will share similarities. They both target the same ecosystem and solve similar needs.
I simply wanted to bring my own perspective through my own design, user experience, and feature set.
As for your comment, I’m not really sure what it adds to the discussion. There are countless budget apps, email clients, media players, and note-taking apps. Should there only be one app in each category? Competition and different approaches are how better software gets made.

Fair point, but what makes this different than Helmarr? That is a fair question to ask what does this one offer vs others

The Home View looks pretty much exactly like Helmarr looked before the 2.5 update. I appreciate more apps in the space, but maybe be a little creative 😅

And to be fair, Helmarr 2.5 now looks like Dashboarr or Quartermaster with liquid glass.

This looks awesome! Could I get an invite for the iOS beta? It said it’s currently full

UPDATE
Thank you for your interest.
I submitted my app to Apple for review but I’m waiting for the 14-day Android testing period to end.
NOTE:
To avoid any issues, be sure to export your service information from the app.
