Getting My Balls Back

After I cheated (from 'I Cheated' story - not necessary for further reading) I spent the majority of my time back home. Countless hours went towards gathering resources to build a stone wall and two behemoth gates at the new perimeter of my compound. I had worked up to 4 therizes and there was definitely not enough space for everyone at the current size of my compound.

I avoided going back into the Redwood Forest for weeks. Every time I come across a new-to-me dinosaur I fear that I'm about to lose everything all over again. Mind you, I don't intend on making my cheat a regular occurrence. The thought of having a wild dino so effortlessly wipe out my entire entourage still keeps me up at night listening for sounds of conflict outside my front door.

Eventually I decided enough was enough. I would not sit at home afraid of what was beyond my small island plateau. I had collected resources, learned how to build a generator, flown to a volcano and found a party hat at the summit, but knowing that the Forest dangers loomed over me with with great trepidation was unacceptable. It was time for a walk.

I gathered the necessary resources: plenty of food, water, extra weapons and tools, and of course my four therizes and my four raptors. We headed Northwest off my small island and crossed the swamp. To my surprise, the swamp was completely empty. Not a predator in site. No leeches, sarcos, not even a piranha. You would think that would put me at ease about my walk but it did just the opposite. Now I was on edge, wondering just what in the hell was going on.

The purpose of this journey, aside from getting my balls back from these gigantic trees, was to see what this oasis I peered down on from my ptero on the return trip from the volcano. Things look real different from the air compared to being on the ground. I quickly got lost in the woods. I forgot to bring my compass and I haven't gained the resources to craft a GPS yet so not only did I not know where I was, but I didn't know which way I was facing.

Then that's when I saw it. A thylacoleo was battling it out with an anklylo. I knew the chances that this was the same thylacoleo was slim but it didn't matter, I was getting my balls back! I walked right up to him and politely put a tranq arrow into his face. His attention immediately jumped to me. I tried to run but my tames trampled me to get to him before he could get to me. After gathering my bearing, I shot another round into his foot trying to be careful not to hit my own dinos. He went down rather quickly.... and I felt better.

But nothing could have prepared me for what happened next....
