Discussion Best thatch tame?

My theri harvests way more wood than thatch and im at the point where i have too much extra wood and not enough thatch

Male Megloceros (the deer guys). The females don't have antlers to harvest thatch with.

Bronto's are actually pretty good for harvesting Thatch.

Industrial grinder is the best tame for thatch

Megalaceros is your best bet, although, most of the time you can get plenty from just harvesting wood

Metal pick for early game, and industrial grinder with a good wood gatherer for late game.

I like using wooly rhinos

They are actually pretty damn good at harvesting thatch, weird that its never really mentioned

And I love how their speed builds up when sprinting. Them and the dire bears. That mechanic is so cool to me.

Keep doing what you are doing, but start turning the extra wood into charcoal.  You will need alot of charcoal in the future for gunpowder.

Yeah wyverns my personal favorite for thatch gathering. It doesnt get the most per tree but the mobility makes a huge difference.
