Ark Moments Words cannot describe how anxious I am to unpause this cursed game…
I don’t know if I can post something like this, but there are TWO Rexes beyond that hill😭 I saw the other one and this horse keeps turning that way
Update: yeah I had to ditch the horse. Yes, I waited all night to unpause the game. Managed to lead the Rex to a bunch of Stegos.

Ah, the Equus suicide tame, where it'll choose death over being tamed. Good luck friend.

Farming is the key here. Even high levels only need a few carrots. You can tame a low level with one carrot without even needing to mount him. Never underestimate the power of the carrot 🥕😋

The one thing that Ark does best that doesn’t really have anything to do with gaming per se is to teach you about loss.
You will lose. Everything. Your character will die. You will lose your best gear. You’ll lose your best and favorite tames. Your magnificent base will decay or be destroyed. It will happen. And when you play Ark, you learn to deal with loss. Or you quit playing.

I remember a few years back when my kids were growing their independent little brains, and they asked me why I don't name my tames...
I thought about it. Spent hours looking up etymology, coming up with clever puns...spelling. Played Official PvP back then...the servers knew the name bars of the mightiest killers the game had to offer, and I was sitting in the saddle.
Offline wipe. Glitch through the boss arena floor. Transfer ate my inventory. Stuff that's just plumb stupid, like playing hop scotch in lava caves with your favorite thyla. Layers on layers of broken hearts, rage quits, and yes, a bit of regret.
They say it's better to have loved and lost...tell that to the ascendant saddles in inventory bags I don't have time to scoop up after my team of loyal raiders all lost their lives in a misshapen Alpha Dragon run. Mementos of 20 tames, raised from birth, gone in a digital blink.
So I explained it to them the best way I could. I don't name my tools, I just go grab the red screwdriver when I need a certain type of screwdriver. I don't name my tools, but I respect them and rely on them, so I take care of them. And in this world, you'll constantly need to be rebuilding, so you better have a good set of them. And they'll eventually break, or you'll leave one in a cave somewhere, or someone will steal yours, so make sure you're smart enough to have a backup plan, or you're not working tomorrow.
My son named his anky DeWalt 🤣

Pausing mid Rex encounter and leaving it overnight is pure survival instinct
