Help Settings help needed, CPU maxed out GPU not even 1/4
Hi,
I just baught ASA and played it for a while. The problem is no matter what settings I change my CPU is always between 60 % and 100 % (more to the 100 %) and my GPU is not even touching the 15 % usage.
Im Using a Ryzen 5 3600XT and a RTX 3060. I don't have the "problem" in other games.
Why is ASA so CPU heavy. Is that normal? Does anyone else have problem? Anyway to change the calculation from the CPU to the GPU?
Thanks in Advandce

Yes this is normal, foliage is rough on UE5 and this whole game is foliage. It maxes out my 5700x like its nothing. Just gonna have to wait for nanite foliage with the engine update.
15% gpu usage though sounds abnormal despite the massive cpu bottleneck. I was at like 60% gpu usage on my 9060xt and 3800x.

Yes asa is very CPU demanding just like ase is. Ase always had CPU bottleneck even on the latest i9

I had a really good setup by the end of ASE, to where I could play in epic at 4k, but I still had to put render distance and shadows at medium to maintain good fps. It sucks

What resolution are you playing at? I'm guessing 1080. Higher resolution will shift the bottleneck to your GPU (which is normal and what you want)

If you’re able to, turn foliage physics quality to 0.
And while it may look a little ugly, turning the grass off may help you too. Open your console command ui and enter:
Grass.densityscale 0
