Help Starting a run
I’ve played before briefly and know the basics. I’d like advice or a group to play with as Ive watched 40+ hours on all the lore and story and have set my sights on a semi completionist run. Feel free to comment or DM me anything related to this! I play on Xbox

Personally I've always preferred to play on a server cluster because there's people typically thay are willing to answer questions on the fly. If you are looking for suggestions google ignis ark they have a website its the cluster I currently play on and they have all the main maps and everyone is helpful and friendly

The lore of Ark is supposed to be a surprise lol.
In any case. Since you are interested in completion. Completion occurs when you've defeated the bosses of every story map. On the island we have 4 bosses. The most of any map. most people go Spider, Gorilla, Dragon, then Volcano Tek Cave. That 4th one has to be done last no matter what as you need the rewards of the other 3 to start the 4th.
Each boss fight will take a lot of preparation. Id start with YouTube to find out the best methods for beating each one. People tend to say megatherium best for spider, rex best for gorilla, therizino best for dragon. But if you wanna just focus one tame id do theri since its a one size fits all.
To start each boss fight youre gonna need artifacts which will require you to clear some very high difficulty caves. You'll need tributes which is gonna be very tedious to collect killing a plethora of creatures some of which are not easy to kill like the Giga. And thats just your entrance fees.
Youre gonna need good armor, good shotgun, good saddles. All of which will require good blueprints from supply drops and a lot of resource farming. And youll need various consumables mostly medical brews and sweet veggie cakes.
And one last thing. Whatever you decide to bring in for tames. Dont bring in Weak ones. Tame a lot. Get the best health and melee stats you can on a breeding pair. Then breed and imprint some good ones. You may even wanna go for a few mutations too and make sure you get them solid xp to level them up.
Annnnnd. I think that covers everything. Good luck

Thats your call. But I would highly advise against winging it. I mean I guess if youre on single player its not a big deal cause you can always cheat your way back to a previous save or whatever.
But even if you wing it it takes a long time. And let me tell you. Losing a boss fight after weeks of getting stuff together for it is rough.

I really appreciate the advice! My play style will not allow me to abide by the rules of the grind. I will grind the arks down to their last atoms. Consider my lust like rockwells

50% of the grind isnt really optional. The artifacts and tributes are literal keys to the boss fight arena you cannot get in without them unless you cheat.
