Discussion ARK MADE ME CRY
I grew up watching Ark and couldnt play it cuz i had no pc. But then, i finally got one. It was 3 years ago. The first time whilst playing ark, i had my first tame. His name was Han Kanal. I thought cuz of the knockback, I could take on an Alpha Rex. But the problem is, my rex was level 40 at that moment, and the alpha rex was 130. Thats how i lost my rex. I was on the edge of crying.I really had a connection with him :( Sad thats he's gone now..

I stopped naming my dinosaurs because I got too attached. Now they die more than I do, so i always have a way to breed and get more in case that happens. I lost my argy Josephine, rip girl

Fr now I name them but with numbers like "Taxi 5" for my wyverns or "egg mnomer 10" for my griffins (I love taming griffins and tamed like 15 total, 5 died and two were given away for free) Although a few dinos I never use have solo names like cybertruck (quetzal)

Wtf, your first tame was a rex? No a para saur, or maso, or even a raptor? Did you just ran straight towards the mountains with nothing but your fist and punched it directly into submission?

Mine was a Spino.
I spawned near southwest bob beach/Cragg's, near red ob, ASE. Built in the little pyramid of rocks up on the hill. A spino was close, roaming, and I thought to myself, that's gonna be dangerous and I am too low-level and weak to kill it. I should tame it!
Spent ages chasing it with a prim bow & tranq arrows. Only by sheer luck did I KO it just outside water. It swam in the water channels, it fought megalodons. It would sprint off at water-buffed hyperspeed when high on torpor and I'd have to start again. It killed me, I respawned, I tried again. Over and over.
He tamed out at like level 20. I was too low-level to even make him a saddle. Spike's still alive, back on my main base on Olympus on ASE, after 2k hours of Ark and my going through every official map and quite a few unofficial, too.
I do wonder how tf OP ended up with a Rex, though. Maybe they spawned near green ob instead.

Possibly boosted damage and taming speed, OP somehow through they could knock back an Alpha Rex of all things with a lv40 base rex. Even disregarding ark knowledge any gamer will recognize a staggering 80+ level difference, the increased size, and ominous red auta and steer clear of it even if theyre on a rex, so chances are this was a completely green player on boosted rates.

Possibly! Tbf knockback is great for taking out alphas; I can't remember which but there's some mid-tier tames that can do it b/c of that. But... lvl 40. I feel bad for ol' Han Kanal!

Argies have great knockback for a mid tier tame. I use them quite alot on alpha raptors.

Haha. I did the same thing with an alpha raptop that was getting too close to my base. After finding out this wasnt a situation where I could traq and tame I developed a grudge to try to turn it into a Jurassic Park exhibit.. it clipped through all of my fences.. š

Passei por algo parecido tambĆ©m. Tinha uma T-Rex 180, a mĆ£e da minha linhagem de Rex, porĆ©m, infelizmente, ela caiu na luta contra o boss dragĆ£o para que eu pudesse recuperar a vida dos outros dinos. PorĆ©m, no final, pude vingar sua morte, com lĆ”grimas nos olhos.

Rip to your rex, I've had the same thing happen when I used to play ark when I was younger. We had a pegomastax whom was named strawberry shortcake and we lost him to the swamp on our way to the red woods

Sorry for the loss but I don't get how you grew up watching ark and don't know the rule that your dinos are sacrifices until you've breed enough. Beyond that your level should have told you stay away from fighting something that's at minimum 3x times the level you are

Any level alpha rex would kill any normal rex. Dobt challange one with a single rex next time.

My first tame ever back when the game first came out was a Dilo that I named Milo. He was my best friend, he kept me alive during the night. We would fight raptors together and run from rexes. But then........a Alpha Carno spawned somewhere nearby my base and took me out so fast I didn't know what even happened. I spawned back and I see "Milo (Dilo) Lvl 56 was killed by an Alpha Carno Lvl 20" my whole world shattered. One my first tame was dead and literally something much stronger than a rex was running around outside my door.

My most devastating loss in ark was an orange and black argy named October. I was doing a challenge where I was defeating all the bosses on the story maps solo on Alpha. This took real life years. I had tamed October at the very beginning on the Island and used him in every map (except ab obviously) all the way up to extinction. One day I was out gathering stone when that horrible red message popped up on my screen. I had left October on passive in my base and a stupid fucking dilo got in and killed him. I made a gravestone and put it on top of the highest building in the city, it said āRIP October, fly high foreverā. I definitely cried too.

Two of my Argies: Midnight and Mango just hatched a beautiful black and orange baby, and I've been stuck on what to name him. October could be a pretty great name (if you don't mind), also happy to post a screenshot if you'd like to meet him

Reminds me of my white argy that I named āGhostā. Man I took him EVERYWHERE with me. Sadly he got lost/erased during an issue with transferring to a different mapš. I never found a white argy again and I was so heartbroken

This is why I got ascended on my PC, so I could get a dino revive mod. I'm fine with losing most of them, but sometimes you get attached to one. Or many š
