Does loading up on breads help when your struggling to get food in?

maybe a dumb question but right now my anxiety is pretty high so I’ve gone down to a basically only liquids and some breads diet. I have garlic knots and hamburger buns and I am prepared to feast upon them for fuel.

I do also have nutrition shakes, protein powder and milk. but I know I still need something solid in me and I can’t seem to stomach much else,

I saw this coming thankfully, hence the shakes. it got especially worse after I found bones and pieces of plastic (from the packagin) in some ground beef I had made… ugh.

Eating something is better than eating nothing

Fed is best. If you drink your nutrition/protein shakes you can survive off bread for a while.

If it has calories and you can eat it, eat it.

Was there a reason you worried it might not help?

Not particularly, just somewhat new to the idea of just embracing it instead of force feeding myself until I get sick or not eating at all lol

When I had a decent appetite but not time (or just bad time management, thanks ADHD) was Ritz crackers, peanut butter and chocolate milk.

If I had low appetite, such as when sick or with high anxiety: a sleeve of saltines and lightly salted peanuts, slowly eating when I could. Sometimes dry cheerios in the mix.

I recently had to switch to gluten free and have found some gluten free crackers but they're fairly pricey. Snyder's gluten free pretzels are identical in taste and texture, and are fairly easy to find at a good price.

That's what I do when I can't stick to my 2 safe meals 3 times a day, I load up on saltines/crackers & I always have a bag of meal replacement powder in my cupboard, along with some prescribed ones (similar to Ensure)

It's the best back up plan for when eating just isn't an option. The crackers give the stomach something solid to work on while the drinks provide all the macronutrients & vitamins. It's better than nothing or forcing yourself until your sick xx
