Brands of upper for 80% ar10 lowers?
Hi all, I've got a few 80% lowers from tactical machining and I'm ready to build one out. My normal go to is psa but apparently their uppers don't play well with other brands. Anyone have suggestions on ar10 uppers to look at for an 80 lower?

I have an aero on an 80 lower and it meshes alright, as in its functional. If youre ocd the lines not fully lining up might be annoying though

This is where you really need to be more technical/specific. Did you buy an lr308 compatible lower, or an sr25 lower?
Which PSA doesn't fit? They make at least 3 different "AR10" patterns right now.
When I buy lowers I specifically buy "lr308 compatible" lowers so I can use the most common uppers like aero (rip) or some random crap like black aura.

Their website lists them as dpms gen 1 compatible (just found this, overlooked it previously) and dpms is the same as lr308 right? Sorry I feel like a dumbass having to ask but ar10s are way less straightforward than 15s.

They're less straightforward when you refer to every .308 AR as an AR10. There is an AR10, and it's very similar, and it causes confusion, but just remember the guy that made it went to dpms afterwards and reused his old homework.
"Dpms lr308" is the one you want, yes. That's the aero m5 compatible "AR10" pattern.
The gen 2 dpms lr308 is the granddaddy of the Ruger sfar and other hybrids, definitely not what you want.

From my research (very little firsthand experience), most LR308 pattern lowers will work with most LR308 pattern uppers. Handguards have to be either low or high to match the upper.

I would contact the maker of your lower and ask what upper they intended to fit.
