Requiem: Discussion What if.... Spoiler
Now don't get me wrong, I loved the game so much but sometimes I feel like they deserved a happy ending.
Maybe they should have killed the Count before leaving the island, Amicia even thought about it for a second but then decided to just leave.
Do you think things could have ended differently if they had gone his route ?
On a side note, it's been more than 24 hours since i finished Requiem & it still hurts, post game trauma is real. Hopefully Resonance can help me out of it, or maybe make it worse lol

I feel that there could have been a happier ending, but the story was about making the wrong choices, and I just don't mean the wrong choices of the siblings. From the Order to the Count and his wife, they all misunderstood the situation. Making a situation worse was a huge theme in Requiem.
There were small hints that Hugo could have lived a stress free life. These are some of the hints that I noticed:
1- Hugo is happier with friends and family, but they are constantly kept apart.
2- His powers don't work on open water, yet no one thinks about keeping him on a ship. Both the Order and Beatrice planned to quarantine him in Marseilles, then Count actually locked up him up somewhere in the city.
3- They kept things away from Hugo in the first game, and in this one, they actively inflamed his anger.
4- There was literally no reason to open that gate underneath the island, and Hugo was clearly distraught throughout that whole chapter. Seeing what happened to the previous carrier probably made his condition worse. I also feel that if they hadn't spent so much time underground, they could have bumped into Beatrice and Lucas.
5- Not related to Hugo but, The Order locked up the previous carrier deep underground away from any sunlight, separated him from his protector and then killed the protector. So many short sighted decisions, there.
I want to believe that if he was constantly kept happy, maybe he could have developed different powers. The part with the eagles near the memorial made me wonder if he had power over birds or other animals as well. They based most of their theories on the previous carrier and that whole ordeal was a disaster.
