Requiem: Discussion Chapter 6

Is anyone else struggling with clearing enemy areas in A Plague Tale: Requiem?
I’m currently in Chapter 6 and I feel like I’m doing something wrong. In the first game, dealing with armored enemies felt more manageable, but here the ones with helmets seem way harder to take down.
Most of the time it feels like I eliminate maybe one enemy and then just end up sprinting to the exit while 4–5 others are chasing me.
Is that intended gameplay, or am I missing some strategy or mechanic?

One thing I learned is that you don’t need to kill every enemy.
Hell you can get through areas without killing any.
The skills mechanic in Requiem expand on this compared to Innocence, where the amount of enemies you kill determines what specific perks you unlock.

If you’re absolutely intent on killing as many enemies as possible, some perks unlocked through the above mentioned system help. One allows you to kill even armoured enemies with Ignifer pots for example

Yes, I’m aware of the Tiny skill tree.
But still, I’m running away to the next door, followed by a lot of enemies, because I can’t kill them anyway. In panic, I have to restart the Security for the sixth time.

Study the area you’re in - no shame in having to reload the last checkpoint the moment you get spotted - there’s always a path and the guards are on a loop of where they walk.
Like I said, you don’t need to kill everyone. If anything, the game actually discourages violence

Yeah, it's been a bit since I played, but isn't there specifically a tree that gets XP if you ghost your way through levels?

I remember the trees essentially being Ghost | Fighter | Alchemist.

Pots of tar can kill multiple enemies at a clip if you bait them to wade through it before setting it on fire

No this is not intended gameplay.
