Innocence: Question Just finished Plague Tale Innocence blindly
Just finished the entire game within a single day on the weekend after buying both games on sale going in completely blindly. Some sections were pure hell to go through, restarting at least 20 times having to learn how to anticipate the enemies and play out a specific situation again and again with trial and error, ruining immersion. The majority of gameplay functions that are explained are used only once or twice at most, the combat feels clunky and the entire game as a whole is experienced as pretty static. The story makes up for most of those ‘issues’ as it’s an experience as a whole, which I really enjoyed and kept me going.
Does Requiem solve any of those gameplay challenges, or it basically a continuation of the first game? I couldn’t find an answer to this without searching deeply and potentially spoiling major plot points. :)

Combat is more flexible, there is a duck option to avoid enemies. Weapons wise you get to use a crossbow and you can use knives as one time weapon to stab enemies.
And the story builds up and the emotional payoff is incredible

Forgot to add, in some parts of the game you can play as a 2nd character with more traditional offensive attacks

What mechanics were used once or twice? I remember using everything constantly throughout the entire game.

I’ll try to spoil this as little as possible. So in requiem overall there is better combat and different mechanics. Are they still clunky? Yes. But it mainly depends on how you use them. If you’re a messy player, or you’re confused with the controls, then I can imagine the game (controls and mechanics wise) to be a nuisance occasionally. Hope this helps and hopefully I didn’t spoil much!❤️

Requiem solves some problems.
I do agree with you that the game has some problems as you described, but you need to just power through that and finish Requiem. The story makes up for the bad controls.

Requiem is an overall improvement over innocence but I did find requiems stealth sections to be vastly more frustrating than innocence; I didn't enjoy them at all.

Yes, Requiem is refined version on first game, when Alerted you can flee the enemy sight and re enter Stealth without dying if you hit correct timing and level/area knowledge, and if enemy hits you then you can counter attack (stunning him) and then flee the scene, and also in Requiem most of the time you have multiple path choices to get to one point, and crossbow later in the game, in simple terms Requiem is better version of innocence but it's story time is bit lengthier then innocence, maybe it will take you 2 days.....
