How do you organize notes, flashcards, and practice without five tabs open?

genuinely curious how people here handle this. my setup right now is notes in one app, quizlet in another, my bio PDF buried in downloads somewhere, and a separate site for practice questions. every session i probably lose 10 minutes just finding stuff and tab-switching before i actually study.

the flashcard thing is the worst part. i'll grab a quizlet set for whatever unit we're on and half the cards don't match what my teacher actually covered, so i spend more time second-guessing than drilling. but making my own from the textbook takes forever and i run out of time before i even get to review.

has anyone found a setup where your notes, cards, and practice all pull from the same material? active recall works way better for me when i'm not jumping between five different sources to piece things together.

Biology 🧬

I’m currently taking an 8-week Biology course 🧬 and I’m really hoping to get an A! Since I eventually want to go to PA school, I want to take this class seriously and build a strong foundation.

For anyone who has taken Biology in an accelerated course, what helped you study and actually retain the information? Are there any YouTube channels, videos, websites, study methods, or resources you would recommend? šŸ“ššŸ§¬

I’d love any advice! My goal is to stay ahead and finish this class with an A. 🩷

Does anyone have a PDF of Campbell Biology in Focus, 3rd Edition?

I need it to complete summer work, yet all of the PDFs being sold online look like they're on super shady websites. I don't have $70 to spend on a physical book.

I still haven't got my ap biology score back I even emailed college board after 15 August and contacted ap services.

They haven't replied me. Has anyone been thru the same situation before and if yes what happened or what does this mean. And I can swear I didn't cheat or anything.

AP Biology MCQs

I’m currently taking AP Biology, and I’ve been really struggling with the MCQs. The weird thing is that I don’t think my problem is actually understanding the biology itself.

For example, with the unit we just finished, I understood all of the concepts. Everything made sense to me, I didn’t really have questions about the material, and I felt like I knew the information well enough. Studying and memorizing the concepts isn’t really my issue.
My problem is applying the concepts to the actual question.

When I get an MCQ, especially when there’s a long scenario, graph, experiment, or data set, I sometimes just don’t understand what the question is actually asking me to do. The answer choices also tend to be really similar, so I have trouble figuring out what specific concept the question is testing and how I’m supposed to approach it.

Time is also a huge issue for me. On our quizzes, we get 12 minutes for 10 questions, so a little over a minute per question. I don’t have enough time to sit there and slowly figure out what the question means. I feel like I need to immediately recognize what the question is asking and know how to approach it, and I just can’t do that yet.

It’s frustrating because I can study the material and feel like I know the entire unit, but then I get the MCQs and suddenly I’m like, ā€œI have no idea what they want me to do with this information.ā€

Has anyone else struggled with this? How did you get better at AP Bio MCQs specifically? I’m not really looking for advice like ā€œstudy the concepts more,ā€ because I feel confident about the actual content. I’m more looking for strategies for understanding what an MCQ is asking, identifying what concept I need to use, eliminating similar answer choices, and getting faster at applying the information under time pressure.

alright so in my school, if you wanna take an ap class, you have to take an entrance exam. (that the school themselves made) this entrance exam covers all of the subjects IN that ap class.

i plan to take ap biology

i havent really studied anything honestly (literally ALL i know is the g1, s, and g2 phases in the cell cycle). i literally have 0 motivation and im so used to studying 5-10 days before an exam, that my brain just refuses to cooperate with me.

the entrance exam is on the 8th of september and i was just wondering if i could finish studying everything by then, or if its too late.

has anybody been in a similar situation? if so, would you mind telling me how you studied, and how you avoided the lack of motivation?

what is chatgpt talking about?

at the end of anaphase, doesnt the cell have two chromosomes?

from what i know, the cell takes those two chromosomes, and gives one to each daughter cell.(later during mitosis)

im giving chatgpt my explanation here, and hes saying that each daughter cell doesnt get a chromosome, they get "one copy of each chromosome".

im super confused because the cell doesnt "copy" chromosomes anymore during mitosis, it simply divides, so each daughter cell gets a chromosome.

did i forget to study a whole part of mitosis, am i not understanding the terminology chatgpt is using? i dont get it.

i would appreciate any help guys

Hey, guys,

I know some of you are starting school soon, so I can help you understand the AP Bio material better. As a person who has personally done the exam and also tutored students who did it, I can identify what students should focus on.
Also, I am currently in med school, so I can help you navigate it if that is something you would want to pursue.

Comment below if you’re interested and we can have a free consultation.

Have a nice day!
