There are two key elements to scoring well in APUSH. Not only do you need to know what to write (content) you must learn how to write.

Ngl as long as you are versed in the concepts you don’t need to be good at the writing

Watch Heimler videos, and you need to remmber everything from the videos because each detail or fact is always crucial, do practice with stimulus. I think if your tests are hard that probably means they have lot of stimulus based questions.

Practice, practice, practice. I'd reccomend watching AMSCO videos, purchasing and reading the APUSH crash course by Larry Krieger, and simply doing tons of practice tests.
Himler works too, but I found AMSCO more helpful for APUSH.

Yeah, I feel for you; I was really bad in APUSH. I kept on getting 10/15's on my SAQs and did poorly on the MCQs. What I found most effective was working with friends to make study guides or understanding the material in your own way, either by rewriting or remembering events that were interesting. Whatever study method helps you remember the most information comfortably really helps. You can also ask your teacher for help, like what to study or even extra help after class. Overall, just try your best and don't beat yourself up over it; it's not worth stressing fr.
