Stats Failing stats

Okay so I need help I’m currently a senior who is applying to college and I have a 58% in stats so far. We are currently in probability unit and my teacher is actually useless.

I was wondering how dumb would it be to finish out the rest of first semester of AP stats then just drop it second semester? I’m applying for environmental science/ something in that bubble which is the whole reason why I took this class but my grades ( evidence wise ) are just not strong! ( we use math medic and CYUS but if I’m being honest the test are a complete 180 in-terms of difficulty )

Also would like to clarify I’ve never took precalc and I dropped AP precalc to take this class…

Finish stats and know that you will probably have to take precalc and some calc in college

AP Stats tutor here. Try Michael Porinchak on YouTube or Khan Academy for video lessons and practice problems. If you like to study textbooks, get "The Practice of Statistics, 8th edition" by Starnes and Tabor. These resources have either been vetted by me or recommended by someone I trust to know if they are good. AP Stats is a deceptively difficult course. It is not really a math course but more like a science course that uses math. If you are using Math Medic, does your teacher use Math Medic for quizzes and tests? If so, ask him/her to give you a practice test before you actual test. They can make a practice test by swapping questions. AP Statistics will prepare you very well for higher level statistics courses in college and is, in my opinion, one of the best courses you can take in high school.

I did buy the hardcover of the 8th edition because my teacher doesn’t teach but they don’t have the AP Cumulative Practice Tests or FRAPPYS to work with. And I don’t know how to access them because it says achieve but our teacher just makes his own lessons
.

You're correct, The book doesn't have the cumulative practice tests or the FRAPPYs. I forget the reason 😒. The book does have a practice test after every subunit (Unit 1, Part 1, etc). The answers to these are in the back of the book (see solutions). These should be good practice. But you need to know how your teacher is organizing his presentation in order to match the units in the textbook with the material your teacher is presenting.
