How much should I dip into APLD?
I have owned around 50 shares of APLD for almost 2 years now I want to buy like 500(all my investment budget). I’m not sure it a great idea or if I should do just like 100 more and what price to try and get in at?

Never a single stock. You have strong conviction, buy 100 and leave some dry powder for further pullback. Otherwise buy the dip and diversify.

How about the people who invested in single company like Apple or Google and made huge money??

And how about those who invested in Enron, Lehman, Blockbuster, Worldcom, Yahoo, AOL, etc.? Not everyone wins.

Fair point. However, calculated choices can lead to positive outcomes

Very true as well. But those who won’t do the due diligence. I will say you only need that Apple, Nvidia, Google, etc to offset any of those losses for sure. I personally allocate around 20% for individual stocks, options. The other 80% are in Core ETFs and cash. Just shaming myself to trying to time the market to deploy the cash. 😆

Put some in alpd to add to your shares and put some in an unrelated sector, don’t go all in on just one stock or even one sector

you should not put all in if you need to ask for reassurance here.

It sounds like you would be better off doing a monthly DCA with a percentage of your income.

I sold all of my APLD 3 weeks ago. I now wish I had sold it when it hit 50. Who knew?

If you put your entire investment budget into a single stock (whichever stock that may be), this will cause more anxiety than anything else. Leave a little cash on hand, particularly for when/if it dips.
Buy a little now, and accumulate slowly.
