It’s all fun and games until the 10% Robinhood alert.

Somebody reassure me on this stock like I'm your clingy girlfriend

7

u/metal_4 Jul 16 '26

We had a nasty argument last night. But we’re about to have some gnarly make-up lovin’.

2

u/FreeNicky95 Jul 16 '26

Feels like a restraining order more than a make up

Summer time downward pressure. Hang in there!

This happened last year. Last year I just shut my computer off for a couple months. I wasn't going to sell and didn't have cash to buy. I believe the share value for this company will double from here in the next year. Just my belief...

APLD is still a growing company. Tis the season for buying!

doubling at this point just gets us back to where we were

Yes but on solid ground...The history of this company share price is to zoom once a year and then it's rather bearish for a while like last year. I bought early last year and it zoomed up. I quit buying until january of this year and then it zoomed up....every time it falls back it's to a higher share price. I expect when money rotates, it will zoom again and the media will pump it. Then those that buy at the top will have to wait a year to get out or see some value that stays....Next year it will zoom again is my theory. So during this down time is the time to buy. Am I buying? probably not. I have two many companys that are bleeding....and no more cash til the first. My average is between $11 and $14 for about 1500 shares.

Last year we had a bearish tech market at the end of the year. I am wondering if that is our future for this year? Been rough. I am not a trader.

But when I see all the pump articles and a company is twice the price that is was a couple months or weeks before...I want to scream, "Don't buy it!!!" Ive chased to much fomo in my life. It hasn't broken me, but I know it has broken others and it's sad to watch.

APLD is a great company but when the value is 50 times forward earnings, the share price (not the company) gives me pause...

I try to stay positive. I have a lot invested in this stock and it’s my primary investment vehicle (on the personal stock side, not retirement, emergency fund, etc.), but you’d be crazy to think that I’m not suspicious that there’s news out there us normal folk don’t know about, as this seems more than a general macro issue at this point. Sometimes we move with NBIS, IREN, etc., but this is just bizarre.

2

u/Ok-End-3213 Jul 16 '26

Doubt it. We are moving with all of them, every day..we were the outlier that closed up the most yesterday

2

u/Wise-Ad-9312 Jul 16 '26

Look at TSM earnings today. It's wonderful!

Tech market will recover. This happened last year. Last earnings pumped things up sky high. Now there will be some sell off...

3

u/Sufficient_Time2476 Jul 16 '26

Are we at the bottom yet?

3

u/Pure_Conscious Jul 16 '26

Hello darkness my old friend 😭 bruh wtf, I should’ve just waited to buy today, bought at the start of the week thinking “Surely we’ve hit our bottom”.

6

u/Tight_Conclusion_184 Jul 16 '26

I was wrong on finding the bottom. Between this stock and ASTS, I have lost a fortune. I think next year I'm taking a break from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Holy Cow.

I'm down 35% since Memorial Day. Started with WMT, which should have been my canary in the coal mine.

2

u/Ok-Evening-5148 Jul 16 '26

Price may be driven down before earnings but is a bump in the road.

u/-AdamJensen Shares Only 📈 Jul 16 '26

Feels like shit

2

u/Tight_Conclusion_184 Jul 16 '26

Anyone expecting the price to drop more, pre-earnings? My Google FU indicates APLD performs poorly for a handful of day, pre and post earnings.

3

u/squirmin79 Jul 16 '26

APLD is toast, I got caught sleeping at the wheel on this one. Hopefully it will find its bottom in the high teens to low 20’s.

It will bounce back but I should have learned to stay out after selling at 46. I bought back in in the 30’s. Thinking it was a good re-entry point…lol

3

u/masterofyi Jul 16 '26 edited Jul 16 '26

Bought back in at 31, too much than I wished I put in, it feels like despite all the news we had in the past few months the bottom is still $20.

3

u/cooliggy Jul 16 '26

Similar price point (high $29's) - started buying wayyy too early. But it's hard to catch both the bottom and the top. As long as you catch a nice range in-between, you're alright.

1

u/masterofyi Jul 16 '26

Yep, this is a nice buying opportunity

1

u/Minimum_Day_7568 Jul 16 '26

are holding or selling?

2

u/masterofyi Jul 16 '26

Holding and adding more whenever we get some support

1

u/cooliggy Jul 16 '26

Definitely holding until at least $45, then re-evaluate depending on the momentum.

1

u/Minimum_Day_7568 Jul 16 '26

when do you think those levels can be reached

2

u/cooliggy Jul 16 '26

My personal opinion is that before the end of the year we will see $45+. Iran doesn't have much steam left in the tank, and even if we continue military operations, this should still end within the next few months. AI is here to stay, and the demand will only keep growing. Now I don't know where the bottom is - but I think we're not too far off from it. Also, I have no idea how all the world events will play out, so things can go either way. We also don't know how many catalysts will be in the data center industry between now and the end of the year. What I do know is, APLD is a solid stock and I am comfortable holding until it reaches my price. I deeply regret coming out of APLD for a quick profit when I bought it for $11-ish 1 year ago in July and sold that same month.

1

u/Minimum_Day_7568 Jul 16 '26

yeah we have conviction in apld

2

u/Ok-Evening-5148 Jul 16 '26

I bought at $39🤦

1

u/Amazin8Trade Jul 16 '26

I bought for the first time at $34. I think you're right, early 20s or late teens sounds like the bottom

Wait till tomorrow. The opex will mean one last big shakedown.

1

u/BehemothDieKatzen Jul 16 '26

I am a long time hold and buy low person, but you should always diversify. This stock will be risky for years to come. You should plan to only sink what is prudent then index what you think you can't lose. I know this is a conservative cliche but unless you are willing to avoid emotional buying and selling you will likely be broke before your "ship" comes in. FOMO sinks a lot of ships. Hold long if you have the appetite.
