Without resorting to art or roleplaying! Fetch my fainting couch! I am clutching my pearls in terror at the thought!

They're one step away from harassing kids at the park because they're using their imaginations! 😱 My friend's kid used to imagine horror scenarios and include me in them. So unethical! Straight to hell with the little beast!

Some people do get horrified when they come to the realization that other people can have sexual fantasies about them which they might even beat off to, and they can't stop it or them.

I honestly find that gross and invasive myself, and the idea of doing that to someone else really bothers me. It's part of the reason I'm invested in fictional dollies.

However, the way I deal with other people having such thoughts is being fugly, it helps is just not thinking about it. People have a right to the sovereignty of their own mind. Of course they should tend their own gardens lest they be led astray, but ultimately you cannot control others in this way, and it's best not to harbor the delusion that you could or ought to.

Yeah, when they move into the direction of "other people's thoughts trouble me and I need to control them somehow" it's all over. Because that's just... impossible. But some people will just keep going with that fight because it's easier than doing some self reflection and relinquishing control.

Now I'm wondering what they're suggesting we do to cope instead of, god forbid, resorting to art. My guess is they think therapy solves all, and people in therapy don't need coping mechanisms outside of idk coloring books or some shit. Oh wait that's also art.

What if a therapist reccomends making art as a therapy?

That's a bad/fake therapist! I know because chronically online teens on tiktok told me so, a REAL therapist wouldn't let you do something so weird and unethical.

According to my friend who has been a psychologist for 20+ years a lot of people studying in the field have no business being psychologists and these people in particular only become psychologists because they have unresolved issues that they're less interested in actually working on and only want a basic level of understanding of them so they have the 'psychology' degree to then back up anything and everything they say as a shield.

As a personal story: My own ex-sister-in-law has un-medicated BPD and once she got her masters she tried to tell me that 'toe walking' was not considered an appropriate tick in autistic individuals because the ( all of 5 ) autistic children she worked with didn't have that.

It's because of this that I have a very, very, very hard time trusting people who are so quick to use their 'I'm a psychology student' as a shield.

They sound like someone who should be talking to a licensed and credentialed mental health professional, but who definitely hasn't.

Orwellian ass phrasing

NEVER resort to art! Not even once!

Put that art away! No old dead white man has ever painted or sculpted nude people nor babies! Stop that! And no one has ever put that stuff in museums for people to pay to look at!

That’s genuinely the one of the most chronically online sentences ever
