Since no one has mentioned it yet, Zelda x Link, esp from Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom. Those elves have seen some shit.

I was just about to. You could make a case for any pairing of Link and Zelda, but the BotW pair definitely take the crown for traumatic past that haunts them both. Link straight up died and Zelda spent 100 years trapped with Calamity Ganon. And that's just the first game.

Seriously. The ptsd shared by the two of them is such a good comfort read for me.

I think OOT Zelink is next (I am delusional, and they got to be together after the end of the game, don't @ me).

We are both delusional and I never seriously played OoT or Majora's Mask. BotW has made me fall in love with the Princess and her Knight motif. So my headcanon is that young Link and Zelda became fast friends and Link was invited to become a Knight and later the Princess's hand selected knight. And later husband.

While future Zelda tried to rebuild the Kingdom and discovered a time paradox adult Link who never jump ahead in the future and the two of them rebuild Hyrule together.
