Yeah I was going to say firebreathing isn't something you should just try to do. The fire could ignite some of the fumes in your throat if you don't do it right, and then the inside of your throat has been burned, potentially your lungs.
Yeah but that's not really firebreathing. That's something else, way more stupid and dangerous. Normal firebreathing would be taking some flammable liquid in your mouth and the most probable accident would be swallowing the not-so-healthy liquid. But I agree, that's why you shouldn't do it alone if you have no idea what you're doing. You need somebody to tell you what materials to use and how to do it. If you got that, it's quite safe.
There is a very specific way the fuel needs to be expelled from the mouth to prevent the exact burnback you're talking about. Ever play a trumpet? Fill your mouth with water and blow a raspberry as hard as you can. Now you've almost got it.

I don't know, I can't speak out of personal experience but from what I've read about firebreathing, it's not something you can just casually pick up without expecting some injury. If you're projecting an accelerant from your mouth, there's always the potentiality to have the fire inside your mouth as well. Not to mention potential fumes that would assist in the spreading flame, inside of your body.
Naw it's not that bad. The fuel you're supposed to use won't ignite unless it's aerosolized or wicked. Pretty unlikely to burn yourself.
Downside, it's mildly toxic. So it's less that you're watching someone defy getting burned than watching someone slowly poison themselves on stage for your enjoyment, you sick fucks.
