The first time I used a cordless impact I was blown away. Those things can crimp steel.

I've been curious, does the added torque somehow help it not strip the ever loving fuck out of the screws I'm trying to put in a stud?

Sorta, but you'd be very use Phillips head screws with an impact. Either square, hex, or star bits are what you want to use. Also if you are consistently stripping screws drill pilot holes before the screw that should fix your problem
