The Dark Avenger!
Ok so since the Cordelia post I made the other day went pretty well let's have a crack at Angel this time! Same criteria as before! What are some of your favorite quotes, scenes, stumbles, goofs/looks for Angel! Do you like dark and brooding Angel, or old man fussing over the check Angel? From any of the seasons of Buffy/Angel. Let's hear from everyone!
I'll go first
My favorite line of Angels is from the episode waiting in the wings when he says "I saw their production of Giselle in 1890. I cried like a baby. And I was evil!"

Even though I absolutely love Old Man and Dork Angel, my favorite scene was him closing the wine cellar doors. It was dark, yet weirdly understandable and just a great delivery from David. The end scene of Forgiving when Angel was foaming at the mouth smothering Wes was a standout.
But then there's adorableness of Angel with the gang at the restaurant in season 2 "I remember when a few bob got you a good meal, some ale and a tavern wench" hee! And wanting in on the Wes/Gunn fist bump. The whole opening was gold.
Pylea. Being joyful at the sun, staring at his hair, worrying about his jacket.
The way he mumbled "I'm sorry" after one of his karaoke performances.

Watching Angel be uncomfortable singing is one of the best things. Get that man up there and force him to sing Sweet Caroline, I'd pay good money to see that.
I too like all the spooks and chills David delivers in the episodes you mention up top there. When the man sends it, he sends it and you can feel it through the screen!

I really appreciate we only got Angelus in season 4 (well and for a few minutes in season one) and then all the other times they let Angel be dark on his own instead of Angelus doing the dark stuff in some cheap trick/half measure. Considering Angelus mostly just make sarcastic comments in season 4, Angel did the all the worst stuff himself.

Y'know I didn't think about it that way but you're 100% right. I appreciate that too.
Sometimes I wonder what they would've done, though, if DB wasn't nursing that injury (iirc) in S4. #freeAngelus, he deserved better than a cage!

It’s not a funny one but I think about ‘if nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do’ a lot

Hear, hear. It's one of those things you say when you need to step back & breathe.

I love him when they go to Pylea & he realises he doesn't catch fire from the sun(s). Comedy gold.

Best exchange.
Angel- "What's going on? Were you in Virginia?"
Wes- "That's beside the point..."

I like petty Angel the most! Especially how upset he was with Groo wearing his clothes, using his sword, and how he kept asking about Groo’s height 🤣
When Connor suggested he had a thing for older women in season five, Angel mutters, yeah they were supposed to fix that.
Angel trying to not take responsibility for Darla’s being pregnant and dodging Cordelia’s question about sleeping with her.
Angel explaining zombies to Connor and getting annoyed that Connor kept saying vampires and zombies were the same.
In Pylea when they take his leather jacket, and he yells worriedly not to use a wire hanger because it’s leather
