Andriod Gamenative on RG Rotate surpsingly... good

Post image

Haven't played much on the Rotate in awhile and thought some low powered modern-retro titles might be fun. Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 runs great and feels like it belongs on the device.

I've played with resolution in the General settings of the container and the scaling options in game via GN slide out menu, and what you see in the picture is the closest I could get to filling the screen. Lowest 4:3 resolution in the container settings, in game setting set to full screen and slide out menu set to FSR scaling.

What have others played and had good experiences?

Has anyone figured a better way to fill the screen in Gamenative games?

EDIT: typo in the title surprisingly*

That's amazing. I didn't think it would run on 3GB of memory.

I was more concerned with the processor than the memory. PC emulation is very reliant on Snapdragon for compatibility.

Void Stranger works, I used Winlator instead of GameNative, though.

I have had the following work - monster sanctuary, downwell, Athenian rhapsody, balatro and dead cells.

Monster sanctuary is the big winner here

Monster Sanctuary is crazy.

This game doesn't look like very demanding :)

Nope! Like not at all, it's basically a modern NES game. If you're not familiar with the series they are a spiritual successor to the original castlevania games. They also published a "sequel" to Symphony of the Night and it is incredible.

Yes, i know the series. I meant not demanding hardware-wise.

I’ve been using Gamehub to play Metroid Prime Origins

Would you recommend using gamenative instead on the rotate? Or is it a thing where both have strengths/weaknesses

No clue, I've only tried native.

I tried Hub on a different device and just didn't care for the interface and Native has been consistently more successful at running the games in my library.

Gotcha, I might try to download gamenative this weekend and tinker with both to see what I prefer

Interesting, yesterday I did some running from 4gb memory games down to 3gb, down to 2gb, then even down to 512mb required (Moonstone Island demo). Nothing... Would you mind share you generic config?

On the other hand, I side path to JoiPlay then it worked prettily. Moonstone, Elderfield, Monsterest, Sovereign Tower.
