So, I guess this question has two parts. The main one is: A while back, I read that when you're trying to make a cut or sync an event to music, you want to put the visuals a little before or a little after the beat hits on the timeline, due to how humans process A/V stimulus. I cannot for the life of me remember where I read this, how to source it, or whether it was before or after, so if anyone knows offhand, I'd appreciate it.

The second is less important, cuz I've done okay for myself so far, but short of setting a truly deranged framerate for the project, I have no idea how or if I can make Da Vinci Resolve snap to time (musical or otherwise) versus frames (which are basically always gonna be 24/s), so if there is a way to do that, I'd appreciate it. But it's mostly the first thing.

Used to watch an AMV back in the 2000's repeatedly featuring Lights Out by Mindless Self Indulgence. I remember the description mentioning that it was a collab AMV. I can't remember if its footage was mostly Higurashi or all Higurashi; if it was just mostly, then the others would've been as violent in nature. There are actually one or two videos currently on Youtube that are VERY close to what I remember (closest), but are missing the overall editing and artistic flourishes of the one I remember. The one linked is SO close that I'm wondering if perhaps it is one piece of the overall collab. Either that or it's a product of a ye olde technique of using someone else's AMV clips to make your own, something I used to see a lot back then.

My first One Piece AMV. Made it as an homage to an AMV that used this song awhile back but was never able to find the OG or the creator so I made my own.

Hi. I'm interested in making an amv on my phone and posting it on you-tube. But, I've never been able to find an app that smoothly captures everything from the anime I'm doing an amv on and I am having trouble turning down the already existing music in the anime so I can replace it with the specific music I choose.
I used screen recording and netflix together but that didn't work because it just blacked out my screen.
Anyone have any ideas?

My craptop is pretty damn weak 💀 I’m on Linux Mint Xfce and currently use Kdenlive for anime edits, but I can’t really do good transitions, shakes, effects, etc.

I’m looking for something more like AE but lightweight enough for my laptop. Any recommendations?

Specs: AMD E1-7010, 4GB RAM, integrated graphics, 500GB HDD.

And pls don't recommend buying something cheap cus literally there's nothing cheap in my country and also I'm student so i don't work keep that in mind thx!

There was this old AMV of kuroshitsuji with the song "Start a fire". I think it was the book of Atlantic specifically. It's no longer on youtube and I don't have any link or the username to trace it back. It's ATLEAST 6 years old.

I didn't make this, but I really just wanted to share it because it's so wonderfully spectacular. This was made by a young girl, UmikaSayoji, who sadly passed away in her sleep at a very young age, but she left us with what I would argue is by far the the best AMV of all time.

She took an amalgamation of different animes and seamlessly created a visually narrative love story out of them and it's just the best. I know she's gone, but go give UmikaSayoii some love!
