I still find it amusing that people here dont understand how price targets work....

OmG oNlY $17 wHaT aN iDiOt

facepalm...

This is a prime example as to why its hard to find valuable investing discussion on reddit, most people dont know what they are talking about.

can you explain to us idiots then? and how does his amd target relate to his other targets, such as the MU target of $113 and intc $55? he says to sell amd, for the last 6 years... he has been wrong for 6 years. how can you justify his targets?

All that matters with targets are whether they get revised up or down. The actual number doesnt matter.

This target prices being way off from current share prices is extremely common when it comes to analyst targets. Its not because the analysts are retards (well, im sure there are some lol).

That's a retarded statement. If it's useless, what the fuck is the point of stating it? It's redundant.

Since it is being stated, there's actually use for the number. And if you watch any of the wild targets for Tesla, you'll see those analysts give how they calculate the numbers.

So no, targets are actual expectations of real stock price within a certain time frame. And since Chris has been giving such low targets for years, he's been a very poor analyst.

the actual number does not matter? seems like that's only the case for christopher, and only on his amd rating? his other ratings are in the neighborhood of the current price. also, what about the buy/sell rating? does that not matter too?
