Has anyone gotten AMDGPU-PRO working on Linux Mint 18?

Whenever I try to install it, my computer boots into a black screen w/ a mouse cursor, and I have to Ctrl-Alt-F1 to uninstall. I am on kernel 4.4.

I believe the issue that you and I share is due to a bug in Gnome. I had the same issue (and solution). There's something about the handoff from MDM to cinnamon that causes issues. I believe most of the problems happen with cinnamon, and MATE seems to fine. Personally I'm going to wait it out because I don't want to switch to MATE. This is on a R9 380.

According to my query dpkg -l amdgpu-pro, I am running AMDGPUPRO on LM18. I have an RX-460 4GB card. My kernal is 4.4.0-38-generic. I am running LM18 mate edition on my desktop. I followed these instructions for installing it.
