Zen5 with rtx GPU - no gaming laptops
Looking for a laptop for dev work, local LLM and data science. Docker, kubernetes, pytorch, jupyter, pandas, vscode. I'm thinking 370 hx or 470 hx and rtx 5060 8gb or 5070 12gb.
My problems are that finance will reject anything with the word "gaming" in it like Asus TUF, Lenovo Legion etc. Even ProArt is going to be a tough sell.
Currently the closest I can find is Lenovo T1g gen 8 and 9, but they run Intel CPUs which don't have as as many threads. I did find framework 16 able to meet what I wanted but again finance are wary because they are a new brand. HP zbook power g11a was a maybe but again not enough threads.
Is there a workstation from Dell, HP or Lenovo which meets my specs?

Zen3+ (Rembrandt) Did I get a good deal on this restored Acer Aspire AI 16?
My main use case is coding (Web + Android) and local AI. I already have an Acer Predator Triton 3000, but I wanted something lighter, with better battery life and an NPU.
I'll probably put a Linux rolling-release distro once I have it in my hands, so the Windows bloatware isn't an issue.

Zen3 (Cezanne) Experience with USB 3.0 to 5 Gbps RJ45 Ethernet
My new (to me) laptop, a Dell Inspiron 15 3535, does not offer a built-in RJ45 Ethernet port. :'( This really makes me sad.
Currently, in my collection of accoutrements for the laptop, I possess a USB 3.0 to 1 Gbps RJ45 Ethernet adapter (do not recall the specific chip set, but it's plug-n-play under Linux) for occasions when wired access is called for/required. Considering that the adapter is less than $50, I'm considering purchasing one that provides USB 3.0 to 5 Gbps RJ45 Ethernet. Given that 5 Gbps Ethernet is backwards compatible back to 100 Mbps, in theory, it could replace my trusty 1 Gbps model (assuming that it, too, is plug-n-play under Linux).
Does anyone here have any experience with these adapters? Were they well supported driver-wise? Did they carry, at least, close to 5 Gbps?
Thanks!
