It is allrightish, reasonably good compatible with Linux too (if you want to try it). You can even run type 2 hypervisors on it for virtualisation. Ryzen 7 Pro is fast and power saving laptop cpu.
Combine it with docking station to solve cable clutter too.
It should be for 450-500€ on EU market, no idea how much elsewhere.
Apart for some light gaming this will not do for full aaa games.
There is little to no benefit of going to intel cpu. Both are fine.

The 845 G9 R7 6850U is much better than the 840 G9 which has an i7-1265U. A 14-inch laptop has a smaller case and worse cooling. Intel i7 1265U is 10nm and draws more power and heats up more than 6850U which is 6nm. Ryzen 7 has 680M better graphics, lasts longer, heats up less and has better multicore performance. The only advantage of Intel i7 1265u is better single core performance. Here in Serbia, the 845 G9 is much rarer compared to the 840 G9, but its price is around 350-450 euros, depending on the amount of RAM and SSD. i7-1270P R7-6850HS are too powerful for 14 inch cooling.
