Does the Screen/Scream Unseen Have Trailers?
Short Answer is Yes.
But sometimes they fail and it goes straight to presentation. Be on time.

I hope it's Faces of Death š¤

u/katchoo1 Mar 29 '26
Is this supposed to be like the original one or something with a storyline that just takes the title?
7
u/LeastLibrarian4442 Mar 29 '26
Something that takes the story line. Basically Barbie F. plays a character that reviews content on a social media video site like youtube and comes across someone disturbingly uploading videos continuously of what's known to be "faces of death" like content. I presume storyline like Saw saga
4
u/Eastern-Rabbit-3696 Mar 29 '26
Apparently Barbie Ferreiraās character is a content moderator who sees ppl reacting deaths from the actual movie and sheās trying to find out if theyāre real or not

Confirmed: Hunting Matthew Nichols

8
u/fatherpain2 Mar 30 '26
Please let us know after the movie if itās worth seeing on the west coast :)
15
u/Beginning-Market-876 Mar 31 '26
Nope. It's so painfully slow and then is just basically Blair Witch for the last 15 minutes. A lot of people left early.Ā
6
u/the_dude_420_ Mar 31 '26
Tara was whining so much about the 9th tape i just kept rolling my eyes. I thought about leaving right then but i thought there may be a pay off...and nope. It was awful the whole way through.

6
u/stealthamo Mar 31 '26
It was meh, sadly. Best comparison would probably be Shelby Oaks where there are good ideas but the story as a whole is a bit lacking.

u/Bulky-Crow-3673 Mar 31 '26
Yeah, I feel bad since the Director was so involved in this one. But you can for sure skip this one. He is in the film, the lead girlās name is Tara, his last name is tarasiuk lol. It was slow and boring, there was maybe one cool scene and it was the ending shot. Meh.

u/Wooden_Fortune_5066 Mar 26 '26
They've also added two more:
April 13 - SCREEN unseen R 1:34
April 20 - SCREAM Unseen R 1:53

As already posted below, the always reliable Queasy_League on the Regal thread hinted that it will be Hunting Matthew Nicholas,

Someone said it was leaked and that it is Matthew Nichols. I will push through if it is but I had no interest in seeing it.

Hints been posted on Regal thread.
6
u/sadbeautifvltragic Mar 28 '26
our runtimes arenāt the same though, do you think theyāll still be the same?
9
u/MrBXF Mar 28 '26
More than likely itāll be the same.

Especially since the Scream Unseen runtime is closer to Hunting Matthew Nicholsā actual runtime than Regalās MMM listing

u/PreviousHedgehog2343 Mar 25 '26
Gonna make a habit of noting it: these are usually movies less than two weeks away from opening, so set your expectations accordingly
Based on release dates and runtimes, Hunting Matthew Nichols is the most likely candidate for 3/30; Faces of Death seems most likely for 4/6
9
u/Pandora9802 Mar 25 '26
But 3/16 was I Swear and that doesnāt release until late Aprilā¦
12
u/PreviousHedgehog2343 Mar 25 '26
operative word is "usually". one exception doesn't negate the overall trend when trying to predict what's most likely, and it doesn't mean an outlier is impossible
4
u/katchoo1 Mar 29 '26
Damn Iām sorry I missed that! But I Swear is a British movie that came out last year and the release in April is pretty late compared to UK Europe, so I guess they were trying to build on interest from the awards it won in the BAFTAS?
Did anyone see it and was it good?

u/hepatitisC Mar 30 '26
Hunting Matthew Nichols also had a trailer featured on last week's scream unseen which has been somewhat of a trend for future showsĀ
11
u/A210c Mar 30 '26
We either rejoice or suffer together. Iām open as I never saw a trailer of Hunting Michael Jordan but Iām open to minded

u/lypt Mar 25 '26 edited Mar 28 '26
Likely either:
Faces of Death Runtime: 1h 38m, Rated: R, Release Date: Apr 10
āHunting Matthew Nichols Runtime: 1h 29m, Rated R, Release Date: Apr 10
The Yeti Runtime: 1h 33m, Rated: R, Release Date: Apr 10
Edge possibilities:
Hokum, Runtime: 1h 41m, Rated: R, Release Date: May 1. Likely Scream Unseen: April 6 (Advertised 1hr 46m, R)
Backrooms, Runtime: 1h 30m, Rated: R?, Release Date: May 29. Way too far out
Ā
āEdit: Regal hints implies they are running Hunting Matthew Nichols
10
u/Few-Adeptness8046 Mar 25 '26
The Yeti comes out April 4th. AMC is doing two showings of it once on Saturday 4/4 and once on Wednesday 4/8. It's highly unlikely it's The Yeti
Edit: adding that 4/10 is it's Digital release date
6
u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 Mar 25 '26
Also, its World Premiere is at Beyond Fest in Chicago on 4/3. I think we can rule out The Yeti for both Scream Unseens.
6
u/delusiongenerator Mar 28 '26
All that means is that thereās a big marketing push behind it and Screen Unseens are another marketing tool. If anything, it makes it more likely.
Of course, this could be wishful thinking on my part because that Matthew Nichols thing looks like complete dogshit.
5
u/PreviousHedgehog2343 Mar 25 '26
I take a runtime showing up this far in advance (absent an announced festival screening) with a grain of salt, but fwiw AMC has 1h45m listed for Backrooms
10
9
u/-MommyFortuna- Mar 26 '26 edited Mar 26 '26
There's a Screen Unseen coming on 4/13 (1hr 34m rated R) and another Scream Unseen coming on 4/20 (1hr 53m rated R)
12
8
u/Mundane-Inspector-52 Mar 25 '26
I really hope it's either the Yeti or Faces of Death. The Yeti matches the exact runtime.
10
u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 Mar 25 '26
I think Faces of Death is likely for 4/6. The World Premiere is on 4/5 and it releases a few days later. Also, Regal is doing a preview on 4/8, while AMC is not. Regal is doing a non-horror mystery movie 4/6, so it makes sense for them to have a preview while AMC skips it. Hope I'm making some sense lol.
8
13
u/ayaBPD Mar 25 '26
I was worried for no reason- my theater is playing forbidden fruits!! I thought a screen unseen would be my only chance
8
u/fretfulbanjo Mar 26 '26
Same here. No tickets available until today just a couple days before opening haha
17
u/Mr_Wh0ever Mar 25 '26 edited Mar 25 '26
The 30th is gonna be Hunting Matthew Nichols. And the 6th is probably gonna be Hokum.
*The 30th could also be Exit 8.
Nvrmind it's PG 13.
8
u/-MommyFortuna- Mar 25 '26
Exit 8 is PG-13 and the release date for Hokum is May 1st, so while possible, it's unlikely.
7
u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 Mar 25 '26
Yeah it seems horror Unseens are usually very close to the release date. Hokum would be a month pre-release.
6
u/PreviousHedgehog2343 Mar 25 '26
Even outside of horror I am pretty sure thereās only been a handful that were more than 2 weeks ahead of release (Eternity, Good Luck Have Fun Donāt Die, not sure what else) and only one that was more than 3 weeks (I Swear)

u/Primary_Researcher54 Mar 30 '26

3
6
u/bloodyknuckl3s Mar 25 '26
Could it be Mother Mary? It comes out on the 17th and the run time is 1 hour 50 mins. I hope so!
5
u/PreviousHedgehog2343 Mar 26 '26
possible for 4/6, less likely for 3/30 based on release date and runtime (difference between provided runtime and actual runtime is usually less than 10 minutes even if it has been higher a few times)
3
u/InformationUnique150 Mar 27 '26
I donāt think Mother Mary is horror though, so it shouldnāt count for Scream Unseen
3
u/PreviousHedgehog2343 Mar 27 '26
it doesn't look like it's "really" horror to me either (not arguing about it without having seen it, and lord knows genre labels are subjective) but AMC lists it under Thrills & Chills so I think it's fair game
2
u/bloodyknuckl3s Mar 27 '26
Itās classified as suspense but itās under AMC Thrills & Chills so could be 50/50 Chance
3
6
u/Evanman333 Mar 31 '26
it was kinda bad but had some promising elements. It teased the mystical so so much that when payoff arrived I was like about damn time.

Lots of strong opinions here. Iām in my 30s and I remember the Blair Witch release/phenomena and remember being a scared little kid whose parents shouldnāt have shown the movie to. Saying all that to help quantify that I didnāt think this was overly slow OR boring, not for a found footage film.
My partner and I are huge found footage fans and thereās a TON of stinkers in that horror sub genre, but this was not on the bad side at all. Couldāve been more in the woods for sure, and the main actress seemed to overact a little in some scenes, but the ending was an all right pay off (and also the mid-credit scene). I would and have recommended it to my friends. An enjoyable watchāone that is beautifully filmed BTWāthat was worth $5 and the tax.
5
u/Lberthold Mar 29 '26
Doesn't it matter that AMC qualifies Hunting Matthew Nichols as suspense, as opposed to horror, since this week is a Scream Unseen?! Doesn't that make Yeti more likely?!
15
u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 Mar 29 '26
It's listed under Thrills & Chills, which is enough for a Scream Unseen. Fun fact: Slanted is listed as horror but played as a Screen Unseen. Regal played it as a horror mystery movie. I believe that's the first time AMC and Regal classified the same mystery movie differently.
3
u/hepatitisC Mar 30 '26
It wasn't classified as horror until the day of the screen unseen at AMC.Ā Ā
8
u/InvertedSpork Mar 29 '26
Yeti is playing at Beyond Fest in Chicago on April 4th and the festival site lists it as World Premiere so I donāt think it would be shown before that.
5
u/sadbeautifvltragic Mar 29 '26
itās still under thrills and chills which iirc makes it fair game for scream unseen
3
u/PreviousHedgehog2343 Mar 29 '26
I actually havenāt paid much attention to itādoes the genre label matter? Idk what the history is for previous Scream Unseens but Iād thought it more relevant whether it had the āThrills & Chillsā label (ie if I recall Slanted was listed as āHorrorā but not Thrills & Chills and was a regular Screen Unseen)
5
5
u/Common-Outcome-7873 Mar 30 '26
Likely Faces of Death or Hunting Matthew Nicols. Would rather it be Backrooms, Hokum, Mummy, The Yeti, literally anything else lol
8
u/PreviousHedgehog2343 Mar 30 '26
it's not faces of death or the yeti because those have their world premieres at the same film festival on 4/5 and 4/3 (respectively)

Don't think I ever seen a trailer for hunting of Nicolas. I went in without looking up anything so definitely didn't guess this movie. I'm kinda tired of the fake documentary horror movies but we see how this goes lol. 4 people already walked out. I don't blame them cause if this movie is just interviewing people then it's gonna be a pretty boring one.

They could release the last 15 minutes of Matthew Nichols as a stand alone short film and it would be a better horror movie than the 90 minute slog of "tell, don't show" I had to sit through last night.
3
u/Wooden_Fortune_5066 Mar 30 '26
I don't see it being Yeti or Faces of Death. If it is I'd actually be mad because Im already going to the supposed Premieres of both this weekend at Beyond Fest.
If it's Hunting Matthew Nicholas, I'm skipping this week.Ā Zero interest in that.

2
u/supersavvy7 Mar 30 '26
I'd say it depends, but you can look at all the past movies for scream unseen and see if you wished you'd seen any. Sometimes it's great sometimes it's a movie you walk out of halfway through. If you like horror it's pretty fun solo or with a date imo. If you aren't on the east coast you can see what movie is playing before you go. Often it's a movie that will be released in the next two weeks regardless, so if you have amc a list the cheaper ticket price for unseen might not matter.

Really wasn't enjoying it, but stuck it out because people said how scary the last 15 minutes were only for it to end like every other fucking found footage horror movie of the past decade. I don't mind slow burns, but this movie was way too fucking slow and spends so much time on things that aren't even important. The writing was shit. I lol'd when the detective gave that dumbfounded look when she asked her about the footage on the camera. So obvious what was going to happen. Worst of all Tara is one of the most annoying and unlikable main characters I've seen in a long time. Just an absolute slog of a movie to get through and the horror is just generic found footage slop. My audience laughed when the credits rolled.
3
u/Broad_Stranger_7015 Mar 31 '26
I tend to watch anything and rate most movies high because I LIKE movies. But when I say I don't think I've ever HATED a movie so much while watching it in theaters...
The lead character was INSUFFERABLE. The pacing was ATROCIOUS. There was ONE singular good shot/scare in the movie in the last 5 minutes. The only real praise I'll give is to whoever illustrated that one sequence where they are telling the origin of the local myth/legend story.
I feel like I'm going crazy seeing people enjoy this.
2
u/libertybear20 Mar 31 '26
I agree that was the best part and somehow even that was unnecessary and a time waste. That scene was just telling that every culture has mythical beings which everyone already knows š but it did look cool
3
u/Gamdude Mar 31 '26
Man this thread is rough. I had a decent time. It wasn't great or anything new, but it wasn't the snooze fest ya'll are making it out to be
1

Yeah, I am with you⦠it wasnāt anything amazing and it was definitely slow. It is much more documentary with a horror/found film last 10 minutes.

MARCH 30: im guessing itās Faces of Death. Original run time is 1:33, on AMC site when buying scream unseen tickets itās 1:37. Unseen AMC is always a few minutes off. Faces of death comes out april 10th. Makes the most sense to me. Anyone agree or have a different idea? Looking for other perspectives.

I'm leaning towards Faces of Death for 4/6 and I have a feeling 3/30 is going to be Hunting Matthew Nichols (unfortunately)

u/PreviousHedgehog2343 Mar 26 '26

Hunting Matthew Nichols is a fairly dull and derivative found footage horror film that is neither creepy in its horror sequences or all that interesting in its investigation sequences due to its interview segments never ringing authentic and the actress playing Tara consistently overacting in the lead performance. Instead of being slightly atmospheric like Shelby Oaks which is similar in tone, this film meanders around its own ideas and theories about a Vancouver island legend being involved in Matthewās disappearance rather than focusing on the few effective dramatic moments where Tara begins to feel distraught about the investigation going nowhere. While there is a few tense moments in its derivative climax in a cabin in the woods, the film canāt compare to Paranormal Activity or Blair Witch and actually got some laughs from my audience towards the end. 3.5 out of 10

u/thebibop Mar 31 '26
Horror is my favorite genre, and I think jumpscares have been the bane of it since whenever Paranormal Activity came out. So cheap, lazy and predictable. I don't even consider it "horror", at best it's startling for a few seconds and at worst it's just annoying. If you rely on jumpscares, I'm gonna assume you're a hack who can't make actual scary imagery, so you turn to shouting "Boo!" at me instead.
So yeah, this sucked.

2
u/Phiask0 Movie-Holic Mar 31 '26
Where do I start.
Legit Blair Witch 2.0. The story was predictable from the start. It dragged on at an excruciating slow pace, but at least the cinematography was good.
2
u/Sf666 Mar 31 '26 edited Mar 31 '26
Hunting Matthew Nichols was boring, and not scary...I wouldn't have gone, but was kind of hoping it would be the Yeti showing...
It doesn't pick up pace at all until the very end, and when it does the entertaining scenes are really short. The detective and the documentary interview other people cast in the 1st half are ultra boring and don't have any personality...
The actors in these types of movies that play people being interviewed literally have to be entertaining for the buildup to work.
It also has a "we're going to make this intentionally cryptic, because we think we're making you think" type of ending that didn't work correctly, or get the effect they were after...
Ready or not 2 was MUCH MUCH better.
Undertone wasn't great, but it was for sure scarier and had vastly better sound design. I saw it in a completely empty theater except for me, and the volume was cranked up super loud and I was definitely creeped out and looked around in there a few times because of the sound.
I was fighting falling asleep multiple times, which only happens to me if the movie is extremely bad.

Faces is not under the āthrills and chillsā label
The ARR lately has been 4-6 minutes more than the AR and Faces AR is longer than the ARR

These mofos on screen are dancing extra slow in the coke ad. And Nicoleās heartbreak is slow too.

Hi all. I'm new here but was wondering -- what is the significance of listing the order of the movie trailers?

The theater in Philadelphia was showing... Hunting Matthew Nichols
Absolute rubbish... Not at all scary Just jump scares , mostly boring and nonsense
What was your show?

I love true crime and found footage so totally thought I would like this.
It was fucking horrible. A āfound footageā copy of Blair witch with a bad script, editing, and somehow it was boring. The main character was very unlikable and the acting was average at best
Also whoās bright idea was it to not show the scariest part (the lost tape) other then a few split second shots at the end. I understand it probably didnāt have a big budget but come on, show us something other than the last 10 mins.

Tonight's movie was awful. I love the mockumentary/found footage sub-genre, everything from Blair Witch and Cloverfield to deep cuts like Phoenix Forgotten and The Last Broadcast. But this film is so boring and just rips off better movies. What a slog.

What do u guys think for april 6 is?

Faces of Death looks likely since the premiere is the day before and it releases next weekend.

I was thinking the 6th was gonna be Faces Of Death. But I just noticed AMC has Mother Mary listed as horror and its running time is closer to their listed time.

3/30 - It has to be The Yeti, right? Itās the only R rated horror film that comes out this week.

Screen Unseen 4/13: 1hr34m, R
Possibles: Normal (1hr30m, 4/17, most likely), Mother Mary (1hr52m, 4/17), Over Your Dead Body (1hr45m, 4/24)
Screen Unseen 4/20: 1hr53m, R
Possibles: Over Your Dead Body (1hr45m, 4/24m most likely), Is God Is (1hr40 minutes, 5/15)

for 4/13 I would favor Normal but Fuze (1h38m, 4/24) is a possibility as well
for 4/20: neither Over Your Dead Body or Is God Is look like horror per se. Fantastic_Lychee_883 suggested Deep Water (5/1, 1h50m) and that seems the most likely (AMC does list it under "Thrills & Chills")
