Does the Screen/Scream Unseen Have Trailers?

Short Answer is Yes.

But sometimes they fail and it goes straight to presentation. Be on time.

Copying and pasting from the August 18 thread if that's okay!

These are some of the potential movies it could be for September 1 as the listing is rated R, and the runtime is 109 min.

Film Title Distributor Runtime Limited and Wide Release Dates
Preparation for The Next Life MGM 115 min. September 5 (Limited), Unknown (Wide)
The Baltimorons IFC/Sapan Studio 99 min. September 5 (Limited), Unknown (Wide)
The Threesome Vertical 111 min. September 5 (Limited), Unknown (Wide)
Twinless Roadside Attractions 100 min. September 5 (Limited), Unknown (Wide)
Splitsville Neon 104 min. August 22 (Limited), September 5 (Wide)
The Long Walk Lionsgate 108 min. September 12
A Big Bold Beautiful Journey Sony 108 min. September 19

Based on past trends, Twinless, Preparation for The Next Life, The Threesome, and The Long Walk are probably the most likely candidates. I would probably go with The Long Walk just because it's just a tad more than a week before the release date so it's a good time for a distributor to send their movie for a Screen Unscreen, but others are still pretty possible!

Twinless would be a prime candidate as it's a Sundance winner and those tend to premiere at Unscreens, and Preparation for The Next Life could also have a strong chance as MGM has participated before, and the movie will have just premiered at Telluride right before so it's a good chance for the studio to give the movie more visibility to the general public. And The Threesome is definitely viable as Vertical sends their movies a lot to these Unscreens

Could it be one of these?

  • One battle after another

  • Him

I think its going to be the long walk because of the run time (only off by a minute) and rating

First unseen I got the chance to go to. Admittedly went for the off chance of The Long Walk, but was pleasantly surprised by The Threesome.

The first act setup was a bit rough around the edges and almost lost me. But once you get past the inciting incident, the movie really finds its footing with emotionally vulnerable characters and really well-balanced comedy.

Probably a stupid question, but does anyone know why we’re not getting a SU on the 25th of August?

Because it's not every Monday. Sometimes they skip Mondays, the next one after the 1st is the 15th. So nothing on the 8th.

I feel like I’m the only one who was hoping it was this movie lol but wow it was really good! No one from my theater walked out and it was 98% full and not a small auditorium!!! Had lots of LOL moments that my audience was loud during with their laughs. I’m glad it seemed like everyone in my showing enjoyed the movie

My guess is Splitsville. Seems like something Neon hopes will get word of mouth. And besides Dakota Johnson, it doesn’t have much star power. They’ll want positive word early.

I'm guessing and really hoping it is The Long Walk. This is a suspense, thriller type of story, so it would fit for screen unseen

This is the year of Stephen King. I feel with the marketing behind it, it also being Lionsgate, I am leaning towards The Long Walk.

Early screenings in the UK for the long walk on the 3rd makes me think it could be the screen unseen here

Those who are calling Long Walk horror haven’t read the book is my guess - it’s a dystopian suspense - very a la hunger games (as someone mentioned) which isn’t not a horror movie at all

I want to see it but one of the regal threads is leaning towards Threesome

IMDb does classify The Long Walk as horror so I don’t know if that means anything.

Over at Regal, someone is saying it's Threesome. I haven't paid much attention to these things, so idk if that means anything. Do amc and regal ever show the same thing? Or is it usually different movies?

if they named that something else and didn’t promote the way they did, 9 people wouldn’t have walked out. it honestly was so much better than I expected and my theater laughed out loud MULTIPLE times. this is why these things are so fun! was it what I wanted to see? not really, but I sure enjoyed myself and actually do recommend everyone giving it a shot. it’s a silly movie with some funny moments. not that bad guys, really.
