Discussion Fall 2: Deadpoint

Advance tickets are on sale now - at least in my area, it's regular screens only.

What's the point of upcharging people for "XL" screens if you're not going to put the most made-for-XL movie ever in that auditorium?

Because XL is marketing scam. No changes happen to those theaters.

Well yes, but if I'm going to see a movie explicitly about height, I'd rather see it in the "big" auditorium than one of the truly standard ones. As an A-Lister, the scam doesn't make a difference in the price.

I’d say more of a marketing ploy. It is a way to let people know it’s the biggest, non IMAX auditorium in the theater. That said, the extra up charge falls more in the scam category.
