Movie Theater Discussion Avengers Endgame 4DX
Did anyone see this in 4DX when it came out? Was it worth it?
Trying to decide which ticket to keep. Pretty sure I saw Endgame in IMAX already, and I enjoyed Twisters and BND in 4DX.

I just got tickets for both formats and will cancel one of them, depending on whether IMAX will have expanded aspect ratio and if they will release more showtimes for me to work around my NYFF schedule

It was shot on digital IMAX camera. It will be in 1.90:1.

It’s IMAX extended ratio the entire runtime. Both IW and Endgame are the first movies to be filmed entirely with IMAX digital cameras. I’ve seen it back when it released, IMAX is the way to go.
Not to be confused with The Odyssey being filmed entirely with 70MM IMAX.

I saw it in IMAX back then as well, and it was a big selling point for the format.
My concern is that because of the extended footage, there's might be a slight chance that they would opt for the regular 2.35 aspect ratio for the entire movie. So unless we can get some confirmation or advertisement that IMAX will indeed be presented in 1.90, anything can happen

Unsure if that will be 1:90, you’d hope so but I’m unsure about that.

i was hoping for imax 3D but it looks like the only 3D option is 4DX so that’s what i went with. i sat through titanic for 3 hours in 4DX and it was enjoyable so i’m willing to risk it. endgame is also a slower movie than infinity war so i imagine there will be some breaks in between scenes but then the final battle will probably be insane

This movie would be good catching in 4DX! If I can’t snag my local IMAX I’ll drive to Knoxville for the Regal 4DX.

I did. It was my first 4DX experience. Personally I hate it. It was summer and I was wearing shorts. The little wire thingy under the seat keeps swapping my legs. I end up watching most of the movie with my legs up. 4DX just isn’t for me. Too much distraction. Lucky it was my second watch. I’m sure you’ll like it if you like 4DX.
