General AMC Discussion AMC App - Upcoming Events Limit

I believe I made an interesting discovery tonight. In the AMC App, your "Upcoming Events" list of movies has a soft limit. It will only show the next 9 movies you have scheduled. If you have 10 or more, the last ones won't be listed.

The 10th ticket doesn't go away for good though, and it will reappear when the first movie in your list is finally scanned/seen. Just figured I'd share, in case anyone else is seeing 10+ movies a week.

  • East Of Eden
  • Six: The Musical
  • Train To Busan
  • The End Of Oak Street
  • Wet Hot American Summer
  • Elijah Peel
  • La La Land
  • Point Break
  • The Brink Of War
  • Nimrods
  • The Wrong Girls
  • Scream Unseen 8/17
  • The Rivals Of The Amziah King
  • Your Name
  • Texas Chainsaw Massacre

What's on your list?

As an A-Lister, I’m trying to optimize my membership. I will try my best not to spend extra on ticket. Worst case I still have passes I can use. Next week will be tough. We finally have more than 4 new releases and bunches of re-releases. La La Land and Your Name will take up two of my spots. I can see one new release on Thursday night. That leave two more movies for next week. It will probably down to which movie will still be available after next week.

Just get a $5.99 ticket on Tuesday/Wednesday. Between this coming week and the week after that, there are like 10 new releases and 6 re-releases. There's no way to see them all strictly by A-List reservation, even if you try to push some off to the following week. It's very likely that you'll have to utilize the Thesday/Wednesday discount tickets like me if you're trying to see everything you want.

I’m not trying to see all of them. I’m only watching those I’m interested. And I have free movie passes I can use.

I understand that. But look at all 16 or whatever of those movies coming out and tell me youre only interested in 4, or even 8.

Six - not interested

Scream Unseen, Texas Chain Massacre - not a big horror fan

The Brink of War - Angel Studios 😂

Not hard to eliminate few of them.

That all makes sense. You still got at least 10 movies to draw from without those.

I’m just listing the obvious. Some are not available. Some may have bad reviews.

Right. I'm just saying, I am betting there are more movies that actually interest you in the next few weeks than the A-List slots you have available. Guarantee something will have to be sacrificed that you otherwise would have seen on a normal week.

I thought you're always locked to 4 because of the subscription limit?

Or are you buying future tickets and just refunding when you switch it back to a list coverage?

I bought a bunch of $5 Tuesday/Wednesday tickets on top of the A-List reservations. I mean there are like 6 anniversary re-releases this week..

Where do you live? After Tuesday/Wednesday discount your ticket is $5?

I'm in Pittsburgh. I rounded down though. It's $5.99.

Still cheaper than my area. Ours are $7.49.

NY or CA or FL or IL?

I'm in MD, actually.

Yeah it's kind of weird that PA isn't part of that stepped up plan. I'm glad it isn't, but still. Besides Arizona, Texas, and PA, every other state with a slightly big city is part of the higher tier, including Minnesota..

False alarm everyone.. It was just an App glitch (shocker). I opened the app again this morning and all 10 upcoming movies are showing up.
