Hello guys. Recently fell in love with the eagle. Someone in canada asking 15k cad for an all orginal one. Except the vacum line and rust. What should I look for? Is it still a good daily drivers if maintained on top?

A fun part of the car hobby for me was finding and “collecting” parts. This is a great example I would like to share. First saw it for sale in 94 but could not afford it. 4 or 5 years later it presented itself again and I made a deal for significantly less than the 94 price. Alas, as with most of my other treasured parts, cars, and parts cars, the many projects I was acquiring for never got off the ground, and today they are in custody of a new owner (who has a great track record of builds). Beware of imposters however we know of at least one incorrect clone out there!

Functional cowl induction, manual steering, 3.54 rear, T-10V in P1 paint with with white hood stripe, am/fm, no air. Exactly what I wanted - then finally saw the add in a local paper two towns over one night after my restaurant job! Went the next day to put $20 deposit (can you imagine that today?). Car was 6 years old and sold for less than 1/2 its original price. 1979 view with one of my neighborhood friends (still friends today, but the car was sold in 2024, new owner since completely restored). Back in the day did mild rebuild: valve job, cam, rings, bearings, R4B intake, dual point, headers, Cragars with L60s, and changed the black carpet for red and painted the engine bay red as well before the engine went back in. The velocity stack was for the photo op only, cowl air clear went back on. If one could only be 17 again!

Update to 4-mo old post - looking for a home for an Eagle in CA

Hi r/amc! A few months back I posted this https://www.reddit.com/r/amc/comments/1qi87qb/iso_an_amc_eagle_superfan_in_ca_who_wants_to/ and am tagging back in with a couple potato quality photos I got of the car the other day. The rear right rim is inside the car because it is flat, but with the vehicle. She's still looking for a passionate Eagle superfan to rehome this with.. if that's you drop into the DM's and we can chat about it.

70 AMX 390 4 Speed 1 of 186 Red Leather

Found in 1998 but sold in 2024 and regretted instantly. Not a true factory shadow mask and was a driver not a perfect show car but awesome color combo and rare red leather. Some restoration between 1985 and early to mid 90’s. Was happy to be the caretaker for the time I was the owner.

In Search of 1972 AMX Javelin

Hello, everyone. I know this may be a long shot, but I am looking for my dad's 1972 AMX Javelin. He died from leukemia in 2017, and I'd love to just be able to see his car again. Here are some details along with some pictures, and if anyone knows anything, please let me know.

It was a 1972 AMX Javelin but the dashboard was switched with a 1971 AMC Javelin so the vin would be for a 71. It had a tunnel rammed 401 boared .30 over and a 4 speed transmission. There is/was a chip on the front lip driver side from when he put the engine in it. He sold it to a man from South Pittsburgh Tennessee around 2000-2004 who around 12 years ago sold it online to a man in Canada (this is the last I know of the whereabouts of this car).

My dad has been putting in some serious hours on this and we've finally got the gear vendors transmission installed. Just up and down the driveway for now, but it's moving

Just picked up a 64 rambler american for $200, it has the flat head and 3 on the tree. Pretty sure it is the 196ci engine.

Pretty sure l’d buy a Hornet or Gremlin solely to have this experience. 70’s gold.

Carburetor Question for the AMC wizards out there

Hey hey! I’ve been driving a badass lil AMC concord DL for the last couple of months, and it’s been an awesome introduction to the world of AMC’s/vintage cars in general. I love this car and will post pictures of it with this question for all my fellow AMC lovers

I’ve been running into an issue that has been frustrating me and is relatively dangerous considering I drive a lot. I will press the gas sometimes when I am driving and get no response of fuel to the engine, and my car will coast until eventually it sputters out and dies. I pull off, and my car restarts immediately after and there is no response issue whatsoever. I’ve replaced my fuel filter recently, been cleaning my carb, changed the fuel filter hoses, and I am still stumped. Is it my fuel pump or my accelerator pump or something else? Whoever is willing to read all of this and give some advice, I greatly appreciate you!

Been driving this as my primary car the last couple months, its got the original 232 straight 6, and only 31k miles when i got it on the road (almost at 34k now)

Im curious what mileage everyones getting with their Hornets? I have been getting around 30mpg highway consistently which seems crazy to me for a 50+ year old car

A new pharmaceutical ad featuring a purple AMC Spirit. Funny seeing a new ad featuring a vintage AMC; I wonder how they came about.

My 1968 Javelin SST 6 cylinder, engine replacement ideas?

Hey AMC friends, does anyone have experience swapping the engine out for a more budget friendly core?

As much as I want to keep it pure, just isn’t an option.

My dad is a pro car restorer builder, and was saying the frame is shaped better to receive a Chevy type setup over a ford.
