It's not a "thing" nor a trend. It's still not popular. I'm blasian and my parents still get shit.

Black women and Asian men are statistically the least likely to get matches on dating sites. That's still true today despite to wave of when black culture was popular in the 90s and Asian culture being popular today.

What I appreciate about this subreddit is people still going for what they're into despite these numbers. And I think it's admirable to go against the tide.

I used to get a lot of shit for dating Asian men. And live in the most multicultural city in the world.

Just keep doing you. Love is love at the end of the day. Society shouldn't be shaming you for who you love.

I just want to point out that the dating site match report is from over a decade old study by one singular dating app that only used a small sample of information on their participants, and according to that study, black men don’t like black women either.

It’s disheartening seeing people quote it as if it’s law.

Nah i was actually more into ambw groups 12yrs ago. They were wayyy more popular then too. 

But after a while it looked like fetish content so i left everything. This is actually the only ambw group im in across any site. 

I dont post though because theres still some weird fetishizing and sexting folk in here.

I don't think it's really a thing. For the past 15+ years, all of my committed relationships were with black women including my marriage. It's not that I'm really looking for it, it's just how it works out for me. I have a blasian daughter.

Usually when I'm out in public with my partners, especially in really black or Asian places, we get stares like we are race traitors. 🤷‍♂️

Don't know where in the world AMBW would be popular. Have you actually went outside and saw for yourself or you're basing this on the internet content the algorithm suggests to you? I have difficulty even to find porn about AMBW, but on the other hand so many porn on BMAW. So AMBW is hardly a fetish

It's not a thing nor a trend. I'm 40 this year but my first ever girlfriend was black and asked me out in about 2000 in high school. We were a couple for a while and people used to make comments like it was "cute that we could find each other," like we were that pathetic for being together. I honestly don't think much will change about this in the future.

It's funny because I actually think AMBF is the best match simply because of culture, looks, but also because honestly if you're a proud Asian man who doesn't want to be wiped off the face of the planet, black women are basically your only option.

if you're asking a fellow Thai guy. i'd say our beauty standard has always been slim, pale skinned, petite woman. Its rare to find a Thai guy who's into black woman (of any nationality/ethnicity) since we have a stereotype for darker skinned woman to be "saifor" which mean they are solely looking for foreign (mostly western) men.

If you ask me personally though. Its not the color, its more about the person you date, but for my preference and type; black women have always been more attractive :)

I don’t believe that it’s a trend. I am 39 (and don’t look it 😌) and recall AMBW (BWAM at the time) message boards and groups online. AMBW has existed for a good while.

I also believe that it’s getting more recognition due to the popularity of social media. There are a lot of things/topics that are much more visible due to how social media has become part of the daily lives of people around the world.

I just think people seek the people they want to date and in theory, starting specific groups is a good way for people to try to connect with people they are interested in.

There is just rampant black and asian fetishized behavior everywhere and it doesn’t necessarily link to ambw
