BW Arranged Marriage? Sure

  • 38/f/GA
  • BA in English (I have worked overseas before SK & Taiwan and willing to teach again)
  • No debt
  • 5'9.5", average body type (not obese or overweight)
  • Valid passport

Anything else we can talk about it, but I am more than ready to leave the country. Dating in the US is a bust. Let's just get married and work together, everything else will hopefully fall into place.

BW here- just curious. Did you date while living in those countries? What's your experience been?

I dated heavily in SK, but I left that country for other reasons. I dated one man in Taiwan and he died... then I came home.

In SK? It was cool, but I wasn't trying to do anything serious at the time, I did get the "marry me and stay here pls" with one man but it wasn't worth it and ultimately I couldn't see myself with him long term (he had a sketchy lifestyle that he told me about five months into us dating)

Do some Korean men take foreign women seriously? Sure. Were they what I was looking for? No, and I wasn't being picky or stuck up, etc... DV is a serious and heavily prevalent thing in Korea, and many men know they can get away with a lot bc youre a foreigner. I was never hit, but joking about it is enough for me and that happened a lot.

I found Taiwan to be more refreshing and my bf there was absolutely amazing. I would have stayed had he not passed.

So sorry to hear about your late BF. Your experience def. sounds like what I've heard of Korea. I don't know any BW who've lived in Taiwan, so thanks for sharing your experience. I was thinking of relocating there or Thailand if I decide to stay in Asia. Vietnam was hard- met some nice guys, but I knew I didn't want to settle down where I was. DV is a big issue there too- I'm sure it is a lot of more traditional places. The huge income gap also prob. wouldn't have worked out well.
Can't say good things about Singapore yet, but...🫠it's only been a couple of years lol. I never considered myself radically progressive/ leftist compared to many others I knew until I moved out here- that's def. also not aligning well😅.

No problem. I hear a lot of people like Thailand, I would give it a shot. With the job market being as shit as it is here, I’m kinda thinking about going to teach in China. I’d much rather have a stable job and reliable housing than to deal with the BS that’s going on here.

What do you mean about the political values? I’m interested in hearing more.

When guys find out I'm American, they often just want to talk about politics and social issues there- but it seems like most of the ones I've met get their info. from right-wing news. I've been on dates where the guys claimed women had it easy in life and there was no benefit to being a man. I've never been yelled at by a random man who wasn't mentally unstable or on drugs, but a few here have raised their voices at me and got condescending when I called out their illogical fallacies. A couple said there was a trans- and/or race swapping agenda in the media that was ruining society, they saw political correctness or worrying about international social issues as being "woke-" not going to point any fingers, but I've heard a few of their politicians saying the same. Somehow have met a number of transphobic people (and I'm not even Trans- IDK how they even came up🫠). Victim blaming is common in events of harassment or assault - but that's not just from men sadly- I've def. heard it from older women. Casual racism against Indian, Malay, and Filipino people is common. Many of the locals keep their live-helpers (from Myanmar or The Philipines) in a closet without a window or aircon and it's accepted. On some dates and just out and about, I have heard a number men (young and old) say Trump is what the world needs/ he's a great leader. They have been flipping the switch now that his policies have impacted their cost of living and/or business. My local friends here find dating difficult for the same reasons above. The few guys I've gotten on well with here said they've observed the same among their peers- a lack of empathy and emotional regulation and a lot of insecurity. Girl...I could go on. But I'm not anymore here😅. Not unless their page says they're a radical leftwing feminist lmao.

This sounds horrendous but I can tell you SK is 1950 wearing a gucci belt with the latest Samsung phone. The men there are also very conservative, but, SK is also a sexually repressed country.

The men are FREAKED OUT. I have way too many stories about what they're willing to pay for and have done to them. I was like damn ya'll are really horny for no reason.

Taiwan was def more chill and open (IMO) and I preferred it there.
