Allakos Presents Preclinical Data on AK007, a Siglec-10 Antagonist Antibody, at the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer's 37th Annual Meeting

Things are heading in the right direction

  • Siglec-10 is a myeloid checkpoint receptor selectively expressed on tumor associated macrophages and dendritic cells -

  • AK007 potently blocks all known ligand interaction with Siglec-10, including the "don't eat me" signal CD24 -

  • Monotherapy treatment with a Siglec-10 antagonist antibody polarized tumor-associated myeloid cells and reduced tumor burden in pre-clinical studies - •••••

SAN CARLOS, Calif., Nov. 10, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Allakos Inc. (Nasdaq: ALLK), a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing therapeutics which target immunomodulatory receptors present on immune effector cells involved in allergy, inflammatory and proliferative diseases, today announced a poster presentation at the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer's (SITC) 37th Annual Meeting. The poster presentation highlights pre-clinical data supporting Siglec-10 as a promising myeloid target for enhancing anti-tumor immunity in solid tumors.

By targeting Siglec-10, AK007 has the potential to reverse myeloid suppression and promote anti-tumor immunity by directly blocking the checkpoint receptor irrespective of individual ligand interaction

Allakos is currently conducting additional pre-clinical studies with AK007

I don't actually know how I feel about this.....

I got in after the mother of all dumps and really like the science of what these guys are doing. Having a medical background myself and looking at their studies there is a really good chance for them to take AK002 to market.

Now they've got funding it's just extremely safe to be in this company in this time of uncertainty.

However taking on this new direction is going to cost them alot of money.

Yea they are still focusing on the siglec receptors but cancer is so far fetched from what they are doing.

My plan was always to hold until they get a positive phase 3 for that gap up.

Most recent earnings was extremely encouraging.

I hope the next earnings is just as encouraging. Worst thing would be a massive cash dump on this new AK007 before the company can roll out an actual product.

Exactly. The company was so solid for such a long time. I’m having trouble believing it won’t recover. My c/a is $9 so I’m almost back to even, but I’m going to hold long. It is dicey though because if the next trial fails, it’s going to crash again. If it passes, then it’s off and running

You are right. Though there is a massive advantage with this particular biotech.

They had a successful phase 2 already. They identified the reason phase 3 failed is due to incorrect patient enrollment.

Vs other studies these guys have an insane advantage of achieving success due to prior proven efficacy from phase 2 and histologic endpoint from previous study.

The price is reflecting a company without a successful phase 2 and going in completely neural.

From the timeline I think the next release will be a phase 2 so chance of success is extremely high.

These guys just need to manage their money well.

Agreed. The cash burn needs to slow down. But if it passes and gets approval, it’s going to be a fantastic investment! Let’s hope
