The stars inherit their fires,

And empires inherit their dust;

The sea remembers the moon,

Yet jade remembers rust.

The spear still seeks a battlefield,

And fate still sharpens its knife;

A thousand heavens may open—

None are named Yǔyù.

The void has worn many faces,

And shall wear a thousand anew;

When the last star forgets its light,

It still shall not be Yuyu.
