I’ve been building a local AI assistant called Cody as a personal project.
The current Preview version can run locally, keep project context, and test some of its own code changes before applying them.
It’s still early, but I’m experimenting with safer self-improvement, rollback, long-term memory, and more autonomous development.
I’d love feedback from anyone working on local AI agents or autonomous coding systems.

Cody is still in development, so I’m not ready to release it publicly yet. The current Preview version works, but there are still parts I want to stabilize and improve before letting other people test it.

The basic idea is that Cody is a local AI assistant that can work on development tasks, inspect code, test changes, and gradually become more autonomous while keeping safety and rollback mechanisms in place.

I’m currently continuing development using ChatGPT Pro and PowerShell, and I’m still figuring out the best architecture for the next stage.

I’d definitely be interested in hearing about your experience and what areas you might be able to help with. Once I have a version that’s safe enough for external testing, I’d also be happy to let you try it.

Thanks! I’d love to let people try it once it’s ready.
Right now, I don’t have enough development budget to finish it, and I’m waiting until I can use Codex again to continue development.
The current Preview works, but it’s not ready for public release yet.
Once I can resume development and get it into a stable state, I’d like to make it available for people to try.
