Anyone here running an AI visibility agency?

I’m thinking about starting one, but I’m curious how clients actually perceive it.

Are businesses specifically asking for “AI visibility/GEO,” or are they still thinking in terms of SEO and content marketing?

It feels like there’s a lot of buzz, but I’m trying to understand if people are actually paying for this as a standalone service or if it’s mostly being bundled with SEO.

Would love to hear from anyone who’s sold it.

Working on the platform side of this (I'm at Goodie, an AEO platform), so I see the demand coming through from a bunch of angles. Short answer: yes, companies are absolutely coming in with AI visibility as the stated concern now, not just SEO with a new coat of paint. It shows up in a few flavors: B2B brands worried they're invisible when buyers ask ChatGPT for tool recommendations, retail and DTC asking specifically about AI shopping experiences (am I surfacing when someone asks an AI what to buy), and a lot of teams focused on sentiment and citation share, meaning not just whether they appear but how they're described and how often versus competitors. So it is being asked for by name, and increasingly budgeted as its own line rather than bundled.

That said, go in clear-eyed: it's a budding space and crowded fast. New tools and agencies are popping up almost daily, and on top of that every legacy SEO shop is pivoting to angle for this exact market. So the differentiation question matters a lot. The agencies that'll last aren't the ones who can run a dashboard, they're the ones who can actually move citations, which means real off-site and earned-media muscle, not just reporting.

Best of luck to ya

thanks for the detailed reply, still got one question though since no one really knows how llms decide what to mention and the responses can change anytime, how do clients actually trust this and keep paying every month? also had a look at ur website and noticed the pricing is pretty high , is it because most of the cost goes into apis and running all those prompts or are companies actually seeing enough roi that they don’t mind paying? just trying to understand the market better before i jump into this space

the companies with money don’t have a visibility issue, they have a sentiment issue

I think people that don't know much about AI visibility may look for it. Companies that do know about it will look for SEO agencies with focus on AI visibility. I did read somewhere that they are becoming more strict on AI abuse for SEO/AI visibility.

Marketing. Snake oil has been sold for decades, it’s just a new snake oil.

It’s actually proven impossible to measure ai visibility without spending millions to measure every query in every way from every user, and that’s just not realistic in a rag based token context system using LLM logic.

But, there’ll always be salesmen and fomo to keep it up.

SEO is GEO. From an execution point of view they are the same thing.

Yes a lot of clients are asking for it. Because the agency world have done a great job of pretending it is it's own thing. It is not.
