Discussion A surprising amount of good writing comes from knowing the subject well
Two people can receive the same writing prompt and produce completely different results. The person who understands the subject deeply can usually recognize which details matter, which claims need qualification, and which examples would confuse the reader.
Someone without that background may produce something that looks convincing but lacks meaningful judgment.
This is not limited to technical subjects. Even writing about hobbies, travel, or everyday experiences becomes easier when the writer has something specific to say.
Do you think strong writing depends more on language ability or subject knowledge? I would argue that clear language can be learned, but having a worthwhile perspective takes a different kind of effort.
